I agree with the Right on states' rights.
According to the Constitution itself (10th Amendment), anything not specifically delegated to the federal government nor prohibited to the State is reserved to the States. The key word the big government leftists ignore is "reserved". They believe it means that if a State chooses not to address something that isn't a federally delegated power, it defaults to the federal government to address it. Absolutely wrong.
Idiots on the left believe that Roe v. Wade being overturned would mean abortions would be illegal. Again, wrong thinking. It would mean that whether or not they could occur would be left to where the Constitution says the choice of their legality should be.
Same with marriage. The left makes the legal argument that the equal protection clause of the 14th amendment puts marriage on the federal level. Their arguments, as stated by its supporters, center around the mindset of two people wanting to marry each other should be able to do so and the government shouldn't be able to tell them no. I could respect that argument, although I wouldn't agree, if they didn't oppose other types of marriages at the same time they defend that mindset.
Same with healthcare. In 2006, Massachusetts passed healthcare reform, later referred to as RomneyCare because he was the governor at that time, that was very similar to Obamacare. Many on the left questioned how someone that had such a plan in his State would be opposed to it on the national level. It's easy. Healthcare isn't a delegated authority of the federal government nor is it prohibited as a power of the States. Therefore, if a State, under reserved powers, chooses to do something within its borders, it can do so. Healthcare is one of those things. Don't assume it means I support the concept but I do support the Constitution and a State doing what it has the Constitutional authority to do.

"Leftists" don't want open borders. That's just silly rhetoric that's not even true. I am sure that there are some in the fringes that do, but not most. I know that I want SMARTER borders. Technology is a great step in the right direction for that.
I am not interested in income redistribution. I am not even sure I know what that means.
