Navy Halts Up or Out Rules in Bid to Keep Ranks Filled

I can understand drafting into the Air Force, especially for people with needed skills. What always seemed strange to me is they drafted into the Marines during Vietnam. The Marines are extreme, because they volunteer to be extreme. It just never seemed sane to force people to be Marines.

What next, drafting people to be Navy SEALs?

They needed cannon fodder, when I enlisted it was a mouth's wait for boot camp , the Marine recruiter who sat in the same room told his recruits to be ready to go in 3 days

Percentage wise, Marines took the highest casualties in Vietnam, but only a quarter of the total casualties. The Army had the highest total.

http://www.americanwarlibrary.com/vietnam/vwc18.htm
Branch Serving In V'nam % Fatalities % of Branch % of All Fatalities
Army 1407000 67 38,179 2.7 65.6
Marines 294000 14 14,836 5.0 25.5
Navy 126000 6 2,556 2.0 4.4
Air Force 273000 13 2,580 1.0 4.4

The figures show that of 2100000 men and women who served in V'nam, 58,152 or 2.7% were killed. The Army suffered the most casualties, 38,179 or 66% of all casualties. As a branch of the US forces, however, the Marine Corps lost the highest percentage of its own men (5.0%) which in turn accounted for 25.5% of all casualties.

I did see an expert guess the other day that Ukrainian and Russian military deaths are about on par at 100,000, with Ukrainian civilian deaths at about 50,000.

That is far from what the Mind Molders claim.

The Ukrainians know about how many people they are losing. They overwhelmingly think it is worth it, because the alternative in surrender. And they know how many more would die if they surrender. Better to lose a few family members fighting than all your family members in the concentration camps.

The Russians are being lied to, and told that it really is not that bad. Are those the "Mind Molders" you are talking about?

Blah Blah Blah.

A lot of it is what they teach in schools. It's become "politically correct" to disrespect this country, our flag, our National Anthem and remove our Pledge of Allegiance.
With this mindset, it's no wonder kids don't want to enlist in the military. Couple that with training for the possibility of having to go to war.

What Bullshit!
You support Trump treason!
You're a Trump apologist!
So take your fake ass patriotic bullshit and pound it up your fuck asshole

Yes, but when it drizzles a bit, you think that is a sign that all western civilization is collapsing.

And we have the obligatory blaming of "The Jews" for anything that you feel is wrong. If it drizzles a bit, it was Soros' space laser.

Has nothing to do with his religion it has to do with his far left socialist agenda

jews are horrible people Walt in fact I'm hesitant to even refer to them as people.

I thought those drafted went in the army. I went in in 1973

Sorry Dutch. I just looked it up. People entered the Air Force to avoid being drafted into another service, but were not drafted into the Air Force.

During Vietnam, some people were drafted into the Marines. During WWII, some people were drafted into the Navy. But the Air Force has never had the draft.

I am ashamed I did not know that, but memories fade with time.

The USAF didn’t exist in WWII. Agreed no direct draft to the USAF.
