NFL Playoffs

I watched every NFL game I could this year, even switching back and forth to watch some of them. I guess, because there is some kind of a void in my life for several months after the Super Bowl every year. So, I just take advantage of the NFL season by soaking up as much of it as I can while it is here.

This year has been a special year for me, because all of my favorite teams are in the NFC EASTERN DIVISION. And 3 of them are still in the playoffs after the first round of playoffs, so one of my favorite teams is definitely going to go to the Super Bowl now, well unless San Fransisco wins this Sunday, and they are also a great team this year. Hopefully, my Home Town Team- The Dallas Cowboys will be able to overcome them this Sunday. But that is not to say, I don't have much respect for every team in the league, both NFC or AFC. I have never seen such a league where every team is so talented in their own ways. There are so many good quarterbacks now, It would be difficult for me to even start to create a DREAM TEAM of my very own given so many great choices out there today.

I love my fandom with the Dallas Cowboys, and they don't really have to win every game to make me happy. I enjoy them when they win, but I also enjoy them whether they lose or win. I mean there is always next week- Next year!

Sorry, as I cannot even make an educated guess who is going to the Super Bowl, as any team still in the playoffs now, could win it all.

No Sir, this one will have to play itself out as always.

May the best team of 2023 win!

I subscribed to NFL Redzone this year. It's on of YouTube TV's add-on services. It's basically a sports "DJ" switching between all current games so you catch every score and every big play. Totally worth it to me - since I moved out of Seattle many of the Seahawks games were blacked out. It's much cheaper than going to a sportsbar and running up a beer tab!

Do you know what happened to Garrapolo?

He was injured. There are several teams down to backups right now. Miami was one of them. I really thought was going to come back and win last weekend. But Josh Allen had a great game.

Edit: I just read he (Garoppolo) is healthier now and might come back as SF's QB2 this weekend.

I find after two years of not following football at all and for the two years before that only caring about or watching the Seahawks that I dont miss it at all.

The NFL won't miss you at all either!

Just sayin' Mr. Crabcakes!

I think it's going to end up Philadelphia and Kansas City

Yeah, I cannot picture the Giants getting past Philly at home. But then - I expected Tampa Bay to do much better at home Monday, than they did against Dallas. What an embarrassment for Brady. I don't think his pride will let him retire yet. He'll want to go out on a winning season.

Thanks. I was wondering if they dumped him! I hoped Miami would win too but no such luck. Hopefully Tua recovers for next season.

Omg, did you see the Cowboys kicker miss like 5 field goal extra points in a row the other night? That guy must be out of a job about now. Luckily they won but still....

4 extra points, looks like they will hang with him,he's been good the rest of the year. Hopefully it's just a bad game.

It's said they are "America's Team." I'm an American and they aren't my team.

RB, you insist on using hatred instead of respect for other teams that are not in your state!

Just as you use hatred to express your poor disregard for others that do not agree with you politically.

Football- Politics- it's all a blood sport to you! You hate everything that is not about you!

That says, more about you than any of your Football competition, or your political adversaries.

The fans of the Cowboys that live here did not call ourselves America's Team or God's Team.

No Sir! Those terms came from sports castors that do the play-by-play that started all of that AMERICA'S TEAM stigma, because everywhere the Cowboys play there are locals there, that show up in the crowds in huge numbers wearing their Dallas Cowboy Jerseys and regalia that is very noticeable in contrast to the colors of the team they visit. So, the Sportscasters started referring to the Dallas Cowboys as America's Team- Because this happens in every stadium the Cowboys ever visit to play the game.

And when the Cowboys used to play in Irving stadium, where we had a roof that would open and close. Some Sportscaster, quite possibly John Madden, told a joke on the air that the Dallas Cowboys were no longer just America's team but were now "Gods Team" because God could watch them play through the open roof! It was a joke man!

Perhaps your hatred comes from a bit of jealousy, envy, or fear of the Cowboys? Or perhaps you lack a sense of humor, or lack of just common respect for others!

Have you ever heard me ever say anything negative about the Steelers or the Eagles?

No! Because I have a respect for all NFL teams because I am a fan of the sport!

Perhaps your hatred is a bit of jealousy?

You know, I have the utmost respect for Roger Staubach. He was the QB back in the Steelers "heydays."
And speaking of Irvin (Michael, that is), he was another Cowboy who commands respect. There are more...

That said, you claim I hate, but you hate Christians, which Mr. Staubach and Irvin both are.

Perhaps your hatred is also a bit of jealousy?

You are wrong about me hating Christians! My entire family are Christians, and I was raised in church!

I have never in my life shown disrespect for Christians- or the Steelers!

I like REAL Christians- not so much those who think their political party makes them somehow a Christian, and not so much these self-called Christians who do not use Christian values, and I am a fan of all the NFL teams.

I hope that clears some matters up for you!

You posted to that you despise Evangelicals, even to me.

Of course you have, in your posts (not the Steelers that I recall).

Rivalry's are fun among sports fans, although they can become heated.
I merely said my two favorite teams are the Steelers and whoever plays
Dallas. I could add a few other teams to that!

Perhaps it's not us friend!

Here we are participating in a very out of control forum where we all tend to express a little hatred first- and ask questions later.

And it is a time where we are all politically frustrated with our political adversaries as well as our own party we believe in the most!

And yes, I know fully well all about the good old days when Dallas and the Steelers were huge rivals for the Super Bowl title and all those great games we played. And also the rivalry of the Cowboys and Eagles we have every year as we try to get to the super bowl in a Conference all of our own. I am still one of Bradshaw's biggest fans. And can't say enough about the Eagles as they are one of the elite teams in the league and always have had a winning tradition as well as the Steelers. Some of the fans on both our teams and even the players themselves get caught up in all the Hoopla and can get quite ugly and bitter at times. But you also see the respect these teams have for each other at the end of every game!

I have always said, that I know you are a good man- and that is why I have a hankering to immediately look past your and mine personal negative comments, and refuse to do none other than like and respect you for who you are.

At least we are proud of who we are, what we believe in, and where we are from- and I could never blame anyone for being just like ME!

OK, Maybe I do, BUT JUST FOR THE HEAT OF THE MOMENT!

I am glad to see you went back on topic of sports. This is not the thread to discuss politics or religion.

That said, it's really a lot of hot air when it comes to "hating" on other teams. And that can be said about players, too.
OMG! I couldn't stand Irvin when he played for the Cowboys, that's because he was that good.
Everyone has their favorite teams and players and a good rivalry can be fun. When I drove truck, we delivered to a
Holiday Inn in Baltimore around 6:00 AM, right when the cooks were making breakfast. Now, you know how much of a
rivalry Pittsburgh and Baltimore have. Every Wednesday morning we'd be (verbally) bashing the shit out of each other,
then they'd give us a good breakfast, and as we left, they'd give us as much as we wanted to take along with us.

Well, it's later than I thought, I'm heading over to the pool hall. I need to get some practice shooting pool, I am losing
my "touch" of late. Hell, I only finished 3 games over .500 this session, and I have won quite a few in the past

Have a good rest of your day :)

I hope Tua stays retired for his own good. He had a couple of really bad concussions, my son in law who played pro hockey in Germany and semi pro in Alaska, has a lot of problems now from concussions then. It’s not worth it.

I saw he was solid at practice this week. They aren’t getting rid of him, yet.

No Patriots, no Nifty come playoff time.
I'm just waiting now for the Red Sox to suck beyond my tolerance.
By June, I may be done with them as well.

It's not all bad. Books put me to sleep faster than does TV, anyway.
Especially with plenty of Sambuca in my coffee.
