Now Do You Understand the Importance of Voting?

I think some who voted for Trump even if they did not like him did so purely because of the Supreme Court. They aren't concerned with gun laws or abortion rights but 1st Amendment rights. They don't want to be forced to contribute to an organization to keep their job or be forced to bake a cake that contains a pro-gay or anti-gay message.
The interesting thing about that last is that the baker had no idea what the gay couple wanted their cake to look like. He turned them down simply because they were gay, then spent a lot of time and effort making up justifications.

Yeah right! It's an absolute travesty that a President would actually appoint judges to the Courts that actually know how to read the Constitution and form opinions based in the actual dictionary definitions and textual righteousness of the Constitution as it's actually written, huh? I conclude there is no common sense, honesty or literal understanding of the Constitution by the left. They're either all mentally illiterate or bleeping liars, or both.
Trump's judges care no more for the Constitution than Trump does. They are just mouthpieces for this administration and what it wants. The Constitution is all but dead now.

What Obama did is irrelevant but when he did the media certainly spent plenty of time on it (do a search). We are talking about Trump's many lies.

What is a media lie about Trump (creditable media, not left-wing trash)?
As usual, Truth Deflector is completely out-of-touch with reality. Obama told very few lies. There was, however, a continuous flood of lies about him from the right. Trump merely carries on the tradition of the right lying every chance they get, and then some.

Some people here seem to think you are an out-of-control, angry troll.

I think you are an asshole…and probably certifiable. You should seek mental health help. Truly.

In the meantime…chill! This is life…not a dress rehearsal.

You are a pathetic troll, USF. Instead of annoying...you amuse!

He's batshit crazy. Trump is not making America great again, he's tearing everything down and selling it for a profit.

All those folks who stayed home because they were pissed about Bernie...or who listened to the Russian Agitprop and saw Clinton the way the GOP wanted you to see her, or simply had something else to do..

THIS is the result. Trump...and Supreme Court and lower court Justices who will be on the bench for a generation, They will roll back abortion rights, civil rights, and labor rights and protections.

They will roll back even the most basic gun control laws.

We have ONE chance to correct this and that is the mid-term election. If Dems fail to take back the House and more importantly the Senate next year...the window closes.

There will be no checks on the insanity that is Trump.

Here is an idea. Let's all start voting our consciences.

Hello Kacper,

Funny you assume they would have voted for Hillary. I was a Bernie voter who voted for Stein.

Funny you assume the majority of the nation would not have voted against Trump no matter who that meant voting for, if they had understood the importance of voting.

Hello Kacper,

Funny you assume Hillary would have been the nominee had the majority of the nation had understood the importance of voting. You get to decide for yourself and nobody else whether to vote and for whom. Thinking that the majority of the nation would have agreed with you had they voted is hubris.

you are absolutely correct about the Bernie supporters that stayed home in part gave the election to try. I stayed home because I don't like trump and I don't like Clinton and I live in Louisiana so my vote didn't count really either way

It would only be hubris if I thought they would vote that way because I thought I was always right. That's not the case. I can make mistakes. I understand I am human, that humans make mistakes. Shoot. I used to engage with trolls. Yes, I can make mistakes alright. I also think that since I know and admit that, and live with it, that I have benefited from learning from my mistakes. I've gotten wiser in my years. It's OK to make a mistake if you are honest with yourself about it and you try to learn a lesson from it.

As for the implications of the 2016 election? Spot on comment in the OP.

I think that if more Americans really understood the importance of voting (and obviously they didn't,) they would have voted against Trump.

Look at it this way. Trump and his followers spent all the money they could amass to get him elected. Anybody who might have been drawn to support him already was. He has not won over many people since. But a lot of people who did not vote, do not approve of what is going on. And Trump's job approval ratings have been consistently below his support level on election day. That means he has not only not gained more followers, he has lost some of the ones he had on election day. His support is less than half the nation. That means most of the nation does not support him or what he is doing. That is why it is accurate to say if more Americans truly understood the implications of that election, and they decided to vote, they would vote against, and not for, Donald Trump.
