He replaced an incredibly dangerous and incompetent man and his equaly dangerous party as POTUS against the odds. A staggering acheivement for peace by any measure.

If he does nothing, the same people will still be dying by the hands of a military that he leads. I don't suspect that will happen, but building actual diplomatic efforts would have given weight to an award that is already devalued after Arafat and Rabin received it. Instead he was nominated, according to the current apologist rhetoric, because he was elected. As I said, getting elected in the US is not a reason for a Peace Prize, except in the minds of the partisan apologist.
Maybe he is being humble and maybe, like I said, you're not giving credit where it's due. Defeating a dangerous and far right wing political party from office in the most powerful nation on earth is an accomplishment your just not willing to give it's due.
Maybe your partisan blinders cannot make you see that simply winning an election is not worthy of a Peace Prize and that actual accomplishments would buttress and give actual weight to the award rather than diminishing it even further.
