Guitar mostly, for about 50 years. I like playing blues and rock mostly.. can do folk songs and kid songs of course. I own 3 guitars, two acoustic one electric. I am also a survivor of forced childhood piano lessons, so I dabble in piano, too but I don't own one.. my one br apt isn't big enough to fit one anyway.

How about you?

What do you think about Stormy Monday?

I used to be able to play a bit of guitar

Life got in the way

Stopped playing

I could never afford a decent enough guitar to really get decent

You can learn the basics on a trash guitar

But it’s hard to get good

You can’t really progress to keep it fun

I still can tune a guitar and play a few cords

What makes a guitar decent is the intonation and action.

If the intonation is off; it's a piece of garbage.

If the action is bad, that sucks, too. Everything else is up to the player..I suck; I wasn't as good as the guitar I had in my money-making heydays.

I still know who has that guitar and might could ransom it from him fro the right price. I know he still has it..I just do.

But then what? He's better than me..pffft..why not let him have it? I have a decent enough Japanese 1-grade above student umm..Epiphone, and by all measures I know, it's a decent guitar.

Action is decent, intonation is good. All it needs is some new strings and a better player than me.

I oughtta get some new strings just to bang out some Donnas for fun.

The Donnas rock! That's a tube Marshall, I guarantee it.

I can play "You're fucking crazy", too.

Well, it's never too late to pick up where you left off. I try to play at least once a day.. but I get lazy sometimes. Also, who has the time when I have this hobby, "schooling" people on social media :)

Very true. It is revealing.

See this is where Conservatives went wrong, not insisting on honesty and decency as the entry fee to being taken seriously in civilized society.

Those who behave as children must be treated as children, for the children if nothing else, we have obligations.

Those abuse others must be reformed.

Remember that in "The Closing of the American Mind" Bloom said that even in the 60's the stewards of the institutions routinely capitulated to the thugs. This mistake must go back at least 70 years.

Not me

I was dirt poor my hubby’s family had the Atari thing I think

I was never a gamer

I got a computer because I knew my son needed to become familiar with them back in the late 90s

The games helped them become computer comfortable

My hubby ended up loving gaming

So I had a house full of gamers

My hubby

My son

And all his buddies

A house full of people playing on this or that system and the computer

Games and TVs aplenty

Did you ever have or play Pong?

Please vote in the poll.

I was never a big Facebook or other social media fan but have been on forums of one sort or another for about 25 years.

I was on BBSs back in the late 80s. Those were fun because we'd all have a party at the operator's apartment pool, drink beer and swap software.

Ha, we did that too! Only we had an annual picnic in a local park, and swapped software. Small world!

Some posters use anonymity to create Rambo versions of themselves. There was a former Iraq War-supporting Chickenhawk poster here who claimed to have been hired by Department of Defense to work as a contractor in Baghdad's green zone, and he regaled us with tales of dodging insurgents and IEDs.

Which he got out of a comic book, no doubt. lol

I'm pretty much the same online as I am in real life. Pretending to be or have something that you don't means you have to remember your lies. I'm far too lazy for that.

Innocent days, eh? :)

For sure, for sure. We had a couple of young guys in the group (the rest of us were middle-aged (40s). They taught themselves how to make beautiful graphics using (I think) ASCII. They just gave them away for free! They made the banners and graphics for the BBSs, and for your own computer too if you just asked. Although Win 3.0 was out by then, most of us ran on DOS so the graphics were nice to have. Heh, remember when connecting at 14.4 was smokin' fast?
