Although I agree with Scientism...it's mainly a matter of having the instruments of measurement, I disagree with both Materialism and Physicalism since it limits us to the Natural Universe.

I think scientism, defined as empirical investigation, limits us to mechanistic knowledge of natural processes involving matter and energy. It's still one of our most powerful systems of knowledge.

OTOH, we couldn't use scientism to establish geometric truths, or knowledge of abstract properties like liberty, natural rights, equality, etc.

empirical investigation is regular science, not scientism.

To me, it's self-evident that there is an immaterial reality that transcends the human brain. The mathematical laws of the universe and the laws of logic were discovered by humans because, uniquely among animals, out minds have the ability of abstract thought and the potential to transcend itself and transcend the plane of physical matter.
