Politics aside do folks on this board support our action in Syria?

Grudgingly.

Politics included, bombing the shit out of anywhere always helps poll numbers. Anticipate a trump bump.

With respect, there were very few liberals standing against the horrors that Obama brought to Libya. We bombed the hell out of Libya .. even bombed one of the only sources of water for millions of desert people. Liberals stood silent.

Obama took drone warfare way past what George Bush did. He droned children picking up wood, weddings, and funerals. More than that, Obama used double-tap strikes .. which are against international law. Drone a gathering of too often, innocent people .. and when the ambulances and first-responders arrive to help the victims .. drone them again. That's fucking evil.

No disrespect intended my friend.

see, i knew you had some principles still left in your body. So why the fuck would you support a neo-con warmonger like hillary clinton? I just don't get that.

Jewish boy lol? Can we say black boy or Muslim boy now?

Assad gassed 1500 people in a 'post-Red Line' chemical weapons attack. What's getting missed in the partisan bickering is that we scored some points with the Syrian people. That matters in diplomacy.

At the cost of zero American lives. I'll call it a win, for now at least.
1500 people on trump's watch? Wow....they must have no respect for him.

for those so inclined i'm curious why you do or don't support the bombing (leaving the political actors out of it)

Disregarding my political leanings, I support a strong military and the use of unmanned weaponry. Obama wanted to bomb Syria the last time Assad used chemical weapons, and caught hell. His motivations were clear.

Not so with this bombing, therefore, one can't judge it without taking politics out of the equation.

i honestly don't understand the syria situation much, it's never been something I have paid much attention to. On the matter of the cruise missiles, I am ambivalent given 0 casualties, it was an airbase that supposedly launch a chem attack (could have been a false flag).

But I wouldn't support putting troops on the ground. That's just what hawks like mccain and other neo-con globalists have been dying for.
Syria is basically safe haven for ISIS. Bush created ISIS when Hussein's Republican Guard fled there. So, I'm guessing we're 'fighting them there, so we don't have to fight them here'.

Two words brother .. Donald Trump.

He's the comical failure that I knew he would be. Anybody who is surprised by Trump's actions wasn't paying attention.

Trump led me to an awakening. I no longer had the luxury of voting for Greens as I have been for years. The fight for a better America was not outside the Democratic Party, it was within it .. and the Left has been empowered to take that challenge.

AND, Hillary Clinton knows she is viewed as a warmonger .. some of it rightfully so. She will never live down her Iraq vote. Thus, had she been elected, she would know that the microscope is on her every word about war. I doubt she would have engaged in an unsupported war .. knowing that she needed to be re-elected.

It was my calculation that I still believe to be correct.

The problem with the drones STILL is "signature strikes". They are inherently poor targeting.
They are vile and murderous

Eliminate that and you eliminate a lot of "collateral damage" -
but you can't just stand around while AQAP takes over large chunks of Yemen,
and does prison breaks because of the civil war.

Yea, I can... They are a problem for the murderous tyrants of the house of saud-NOT ME... They are a problem for the Shia, NOT ME.. They are not an American problem so I dunno why you try to make it so........

These weren't drones.

And then Little Kim. Worlds problems almost solved.....

I am sure lil kim is impressed w/ the message he sent to assad......

Seoul is w/in artillery range & that boy got nukes...

He isn't mean to his people, the ones his dad gave him, no gas, he starves them slowly, unless you're related, then you get off easy getting shot by an anti-aircraft gun from the 50's...

As bad as this may come across, I really have no problems with political assassinations. Some "leaders" just need to be removed with as little fuss as possible..

nobody bothers to ask why the strikes happened now. RIGHT WHEN THE CHINESE PRESIDENT IS MEETING TRUMP. Not one week after or one week before.

How long did it take obama before he decided no strike?

In a rubrics cube one block does not move in isolation. When it moves everything else does as well.

I am sure they have tried many times to get rid of him, his dad & grand dad...

I don't think many would shed a tear for un... The big fear for many is that someone worse than him/his family may take over.:dunno:

There are a few of us asking but I find it shocking that for the most part the media is chasing their tales about the shiny distraction rumpf has provided them..

Planes took off from the airport today. Apparently, they did not bomb the runways.
??Link?? SOmeone posted a clip earlier, supposedly of a Russian drone flying over & they looked clear, planes around etc.. I think they said they all fell outside the air field perimeter??
