Reality check on electric cars

What you people seem to fail to understand is: watching a stumbling buffoon meander around a discussion forum posting like a Ritalin-addled teen ager complete with meme upon meme upon meme is NOT really an indicator that we "respect" you.

No one wants a car wreck but we all look when we see one.

The memes are accurate, dude... get over it.

They have the same construction as ICEs. A dent is a dent.
No they don't, Sybil.

EVs contain massive heavy batteries, a fixed gear transmission, and electric traction motors and must be maintained at specially equipped shops such as dealers.

Gasoline cars contain lightweight efficient engines, never need to be recharged to drive them, are more maneuverable, and can be maintained with fairly common tools.

A single dent on an EV that damages a single battery totals the car.
A single dent on a gasoline car is just a dent.

Have you noticed how complicated ICEs are to work on?
Yes. I do all my own work on my ICE cars. They are simple and only require the use of fairly common tools. Parts for them are cheap.
The fact is, EVs have far fewer problems and require a lot less maintenance. That is a good reason to own one.
Nope. Tesla EVs are the most recalled car in recent times. They can only be repaired at specially equipped shops (i.e. dealers). Parts for them are EXPENSIVE!

Not really. ICE vehicles are relatively easy to work on. Most mechanics have far more difficulty with the electrical and electronics on newer vehicles than anything else. To work on a Tesla you have to pay Tesla for their service module package that operates off the touchscreen in the vehicle. This will run you close to $100 a day if you want to rent it. Without that, you can't do shit to service the vehicle.
You CAN change the tires and do a brake job, IF you know the procedure for putting the car into service mode before beginning that job and then doing the recalibration of any TPS you may have changed, and IF you know where the lift points on the car are, and IF you have a jack and stand strong enough to lift that heavy bastard safely.

Almost all the Trumpian right wing respondents will wind up driving EVs and liking it. Stubborn haters can learn and will.
Yea, sure.

Seems to me most "Trumpian right wing(ers)" never bought an EV and even of those that did, most end up going back to gas ICE vehicles...

It seems like the one place where toy cars are working is China....which has cheaper cars, better cars, and a better charger network.
