Reality check on electric cars

Desh ain't gonna matter. Do you think she does?

Are you drunk?

Desh won't have anything to do with the armed government agents that will enforce Biden's will upon all dissenters. She just likes to post that phrase over and over.

You will comply or you will die, just like Ashli Babbitt.

You cannot be this obtuse.

The DEMOCRATS are assuming control over the market.

They are determined to phase out fossil fuels entirely by 2030.

They ill use any means necessary to accomplish that goal.

If that means shutting down domestic oil wells on federal land, they'll do it.

If it means denying permits for drilling, they'll do it.

If it means shutting down oil pipelines, they'll do it.

If it means taxing and regulating producers and consumers prohibitively, they'll do that, too.

The fossil fuel using public will vote them out of office. How many people heat their homes and buildings using natural gas or fuel oil?
Switching to electric will not only put most small businesses out of business, it will melt down the power grids once implemented.

The fossil fuel using public will vote them out of office.

And mail in ballots don't use fossil fuels.

Hopefully their users do.

Lithium is in vaping devices, tools, cell phones, tablets, laptops, Ebikes. hoverboards, scooters, electric toothbrushes, and many many more.
So? It's a popular battery technology. They're rechargable, lightweight, and have an internal resistance within a reasonable level. They are sensitive to physical damage, however, and will burn like a firework if they get shorted internally. If mounted in a battery pack, it is a class C fire. If it's just one cell, you can treat it as a class A fire.
I give you infoe\o and you refuse to face it.
My info comes from Tesla and General Motors.
ICE pollution
Define 'pollution'. CO2 and water are not pollution.
is bad for buildings, bridges, people, lungs, water animals and even Trumpies.
CO2 does not affect buildings, bridges, people, lungs, animals, or Trump supporters.
Water can damage buildings, bridges, people, lungs, animals, and Trump supporters.
Nope. 50% does not equal 100%. Stopping every couple of hours to charge for an hour is not practical.
Further, all chargers must be powered. They don't create energy out of nothing. Power plants burn fuel like natural gas, oil, or coal to charge your 'clean' car.

Let's talk about comfort controls in these electric vehicles..

It all runs of of electric? Wow, that's gonna suck battery juice down and not be very powerful.

Cabin services (like HVAC, entertainment systems, wipers, and cabin lighting) does suck 'juice'. Headlights, indicator lights, marker lights, turn signals and brake lights also suck 'juice'. A lot of it.
The biggest current loads (other than motive power) are headlights, HVAC, and wipers. Yes. Using them will reduce your range. This makes the car even less practical in inclement weather.

The batteries must also be constantly cooled. They are very sensitive to getting overheated. Various fans and such for this purpose also use 'juice'. These batteries can't take the heat like an internal combustion can.

If a battery pack overheats, it will internally short and burn like a firework. Because they are in a pack, you must treat it as a class C fire. For all practical purposes, the car is destroyed. This failure is catastrophic.
A wreck can also cause a battery fire the same way via physical damage.

Although Tesla has been pretty good at making their batteries, there have been instances where defectively manufactured battery cells also catch fire spontaneously.

Tesla has an option for level 2 driver assist. Unfortunately, people treat this as a self drive car (as if it is a level 4 system). It is not. The system cannot handle unusual situations or conditions.
As a comparison, Subaru's Eyesight technology (now standard equipment on Subaru) is a level 1 driver assist. Most cars have level 0, or no driver assist. Dumb cruise controls do not qualify as driver assist.

Comfort in the cabin is, as they say, in the eye of the beholder (in this case the driver). Different people have different physical sizes and have different purposes for driving a vehicle.

Drive what you like. It's a free market. You get to choose the car you like at the price you are willing to pay.

Electric car idiots want to mandate the electric car. They want fascism and/or communism. They want to manipulate or even own the automotive market and tell you what you can drive by dictat.

The electric car isn't particularly stupid if it fits your needs, but many of the drivers of them are arrogant bastards.

You haven't been paying attention. No domestic manufacture or import of any vehicle with an internal combustion engine will be allowed soon.

The government has dictated the market, and the market is not there.

Won't happen. The government cannot just destroy the entire oil industry outright, nor the automotive manufacturers outright.
Civil war will happen before that.

They won't get the chance.
