The US Constitution is the supreme law of the land. It is a law that supersedes all other laws. Any other law written that violates the supreme law would be unconstitutional.

I guess the founders simply assumed that some people were smart enough to understand the meaning of words. I guess they never conceived someone like you could exist.

ROFLMAO. I guess you didn't realize that General Sherman died in 1891 so he wasn't writing an op-ed in 2014.

And you seem to be unable to understand how laws work in the US. You can't convict someone for a crime in 1864 for a law that was first passed in 1929. While what Sherman did may be considered a war crime in 1950 it wasn't one in 1864 since their were no Geneva conventions at that time. Not only that your author claims Sherman admitted war crimes and then never presents any evidence of him admitting that.
