No, I'm saying you're being too literal. It's clear someone like Beto would not stop with just confiscating "assault weapons." He, and most other anti-gun nuts, would gleefully confiscate every gun in the country if they could. They just can't say that out loud if they want to be elected.

Coyote are a serious issue in places like Arizona. They regularly attack pets and livestock. Feral pigs back East in the South are another one that this weapon would be excellent for taking on because of their speed. A semi-automatic would be very helpful. Neither is done "for fun," but to protect pets, protect livestock, protect crops, etc.


Note that Ramsey is using a semi-automatic rifle--like the AR 15.

That would make sense if people live in those places. Cities? What on earth would they possibly need AR-15s for?

They likely don't but how do you differentiate? I live in the Phoenix metro area and there are usually people with AR and AK type rifles at the range when I go. Some hunt the animals I described. Others just target shoot. I don't particularly like either weapon and certainly wouldn't plunk down the $1000+ to buy one. But that's me.

I've owned property in rural Arizona, so I could end up using one of these for shooting coyote but I'm more likely to use a scoped 7.62 mm / 30-06 / .303 / .308 rifle to do the job because that's more comfortable for me.
