States With Stricter Gun Laws Have Lower Gun Death Rates Because Gun Laws Work

Disarm & incarcerate the criminals first, then we can talk about how to best arm ourselves in the event of government overreach.

I don't think having guns will stop government overreach at all. If that's one of your reasons for owning a gun, that's fine with me. I'm more concerned in keeping guns away from criminals and people who are mentally ill.

Hello rjhenn,

No evidence which you'll accept, anyway.

For Gabby Giffords, it would be incontrovertible.
No evidence that anyone except a control freak would accept. All I ever hear as 'evidence' are examples of countries that didn't have a problem with guns before they had any gun control laws and continued to not have any problems after. That, or examples of a reduction in the gun homicide rate without any reduction in the overall homicide rate. If just as many people are dieing, where's the improvement?There's never any case where a gun control law has actually made things better.

Brazil [emoji38]up::rofl2:
Brazil, and Australia's Northern Territory. There's also the fact that Canada's homicide rate keeps rising, fueled by gang violence and increases in gun violence, leading to calls for even stricter gun laws. Yes, even more of the same thing that's already not working. That's sane.
