The best arguments atheists and religionists have been able to muster

Yup!

At age 88, I don't kid myself. The expression, "Today you are one day closer to death than you were yesterday" has emphasized meaning.

Gonna happen...and gonna happen relatively soon.
My big advice is to live with no regrets.

As a teenager, I witnessed my grandfather and grand aunt reconcile after 40+ years over a tiff about the divorce of my grandfather and grandmother when my mom was a child.

Under similar circumstances I saw my brother in a spat with my dad and refused to talk with him at all or even acknowledge our half-brother and half-sister 20 years later. His choice, but out of concern for him, I advised him to have no regrets because "standing over someone's grave is the wrong fucking time to have regrets".

He did. Although he still didn't have much to say to my dad, he and my half-brother became good friends and had a few fly fishing trips together. We are all scattered across the country so get-togethers often had to be planned.

You said yourself ,"I do not know "!
I don't know, with absolute certainty, that leprechauns don't exist. That isn't the same as saying there's reason to believe they do and, in fact, there's no reason to believe they exist. Other than "I don't know how the universe came into existence, so I guess it had to have been made by a god", what actual reason is there to believe that gods exist?

It's a complicated situation. Paul, who admitted he never met Jesus, claims he converted to Christianity because he later saw Jesus. There's also the fact that none of Jesus' disciples are believed to have written any books in the Bible. His disciples were described as day-laborer types. Not the kind of people who would know how to read or write, so we have no idea where these stories actually came from.
Paul claims he had a vision, and to him it must have seemed real because he lived the rest of his life dangerously; facing pirates, dangerous sea voyages, shipwrecks, arrest, persecution, ultimately death and execution. That's especially remarkable because he had started out as a Pharisaic persecutor of the Christians. I don't think he would live a hard and dangerous life for a lie he fabricated. Sure, he might have been mentally ill, but I don't think anyone can read Romans and say it was written by a lunatic.

Paul knew the eyewitness disciples. So he is our best attestation for what the eyewitnesses believe they saw after the crucifixion.

I think we have a reasonably good idea of who wrote the gospels. Two of the four gospels aren't even written by disciples. Mark and Luke were low ranking Christians of no significant importance. There is no propaganda value in making two of the four gospels attributable to low ranking and obscure Christians. That gives the claim of authorship some strength of authenticity. Luke and Mark were obviously fluent in Greek, which is not surprising. Greek was the lingua franca among Hellenized Jews.

Luke was a companion of Paul. Mark was a companion of Peter, and Mark's gospel is probably based on what he heard Peter teach and say.

The Gospel of Mathew probably is loosely based around some sayings of Jesus Mathew wrote down in Hebrew and that a later author used and enhanced to create the Gospel of Mathew. The Gospel of John was a late addition to the canon, and I don't think there is a shred of evidence it can be directly or indirectly attributed to a disciple.

There is no upside to holding onto resentment and anger.

WTH does that mean?

It mean you don't know

YOU can't handle the truth.

The truth is that I do not know if there are any gods or not. I strongly suspect that neither you nor anyone else does either, but that is a truth most people can't handle...so you are not alone.

That's where you're wrong ,sometimes people with no qualifications whatsoever ,get Chosen for a job.
YHWH doesn't take registrations ,your Chosen assigned a subject and a job within that subject!
Then class begins the Holy Spirit starts teaching on a need to know bases. The subject you're now majoring in!
At this level it's not "is there a God"? No you're working for him ! So it crosses over from religion ,to full blown theology! That's where Mason is now.

I know what I wrote...after all, I wrote it.

What did you mean by quoting it back to me.

Melchizedek-Files.com has the whole story on
Why Mason is here, and what time it is.
You are getting very weird, Margot.

One: Ask your Holy Spirit for some help with that.

Two: Why don't you choose a different avatar. Margot Frank should not be used for your kind of nonsense.

Where have I ever suggested otherwise???

There may be no YHWH. There may be no Holy Spirit.

All English words...most spelled correctly.

But they make no sense.

If this is too much stress for you...you might consider posting on something different. Maybe some comic book characters.

@ZenMode,

I will make this easy. When you are ready to move forward, just answer the two questions below. Yes, I mean actually answer the questions, not pretend that you have just thought of an irrelevant question that must somehow be answered and this topic derailed before you will admit that you have no counterargument.

  1. If Earth's atmosphere were to vanish, would Earth's average global equilibrium temperature change any?
  2. Under what circumstances does the Stefan-Boltzmann law's requirement that a body's radiance and temperature move in the same direction, somehow become false and cause earth's temperature to increase while earth's radiance decreases?

There is other evidence:

* Life on Earth exists. Each organism is highly organized.
* Santa Claus (who was a real person).
* Prayers that are answered (at least as testified by the one that prayed).
* The Earth itself.
* All the stars and planets that we can see.
* Weather, which provides for fresh water from the sea.

This is exactly the same evidence for the Greek gods as well.

Organization is not required for a religion to be a religion.
Some loosely organized religions:
Buddhism - Shinto (including American variants) - Christianity - Islam - The Church of No God - Hinidi

Some tightly organized religions:
The Church of Global Warming - The Church of Covid - The Church of Hate - The Church of Green - The Church of the Ozone Hole

Some tightly organized variants of Christianity:
Catholism - Protestantism - Mormonism
I'd like to add some evidence. God promised to never flood the earth again, and he gave us rainbows as an ongoing sign of His promise, and look, there are obviously still rainbows, and that's how I know that "sea level rise" is totally bunk and will never be flooding anything.
