The left sneers at those who do not have college degrees.

Here’s the way it works for RW ignorants. One of the greatest assets one can ever have, other than their parents, are good teachers. But the right continually mocks that profession as overpaid socialists. That’s why you are labeled as you are.

That’s false. What gets mocked are the teachers union who fight against change and any competition. What also gets mocked are white liberals who claim to support public education but send their kids to private school or move to wealthy largely white suburbs that have good public schools. Then these folks want to lecture others? Please.

Is that right? Then explain how your fellow lefties here brag how much better educated blue states are and how red state people are knuckle dragging red necks. Sorry your hipocrisy is showing.

Well it's true that Lefties tend to be smarter and better educated, but we still want to help working-class people, regardless of what their politics are. I think all people are entitled to health care. I'd never say this person shouldn't have health care because they're right-wing.
The Right, on the other hand, only wants to exploit the working-class.

Not sure where you get this idea from, but I can assure you that it is false. Personally I would dearly love to see trade schools funded as well as other schools, and the trades given the same recognition and respect that white-collar professionals get. As you pointed out, we need plumbers, mechanics, electricians, day care and food service workers, carpenters, roofers, etc. We need 'em a lot more than we need more lawyers or English majors.

Wouldn't a work-for-tuition scheme be great with our immigrants too? Rather than paying them crap wages under the table, let's set up some schools teaching needed skills for them. They can work to pay for their tuition, and we can require that if they bring a spouse he/she has to work too even if they aren't attending school.

Would anyone guess it was a strawman or strawwomen merely created to whine about other's bias, based solely on his own "preconceived" aka biased opinions of others?? :dunno: :whome:

He doesn't pretend to be a "teacher," we know that much.

Is she mocking me again? I wonder if this will shut anyone up. I didn't get schooling, so Mom could go to work, and I cold stay home, and take care of my slowly dying father. When he died, I started getting disability money. Dad was in the middle of a huge house renovation when he started going down hill. Mom got in a car accident shortly after that though, and the money from the settlement paid for the bills of the renovation. All this happened shortly after my beloved dog died of cancer. I was still kind of numb from that when Dad passed. I've basically seen hell, so if anyone wants to judge me, I'd like them to see if they can make a scratch in my shell. Getting a job during all this, wouldn't have been feasible.

This is a recent change. In the ‘90’s and possibly still the aughts Republican voters were better educated. At the end of the day a person’s vote counts the same whether you are a college graduate or not.

lol, the 90's aint so recent, you're getting old dude........

The politics of this concept of “left wing snobbishness” is a case study in why the Democratic Party is so disappointing to me.

Here is a custom made, gift wrapped, manna-from-heaven entree into middle-income, middle-class America that the Democrats running for President are too blind to see and too tone-deaf to listen to. I went to ontheissues.org and looked at the education positions for several of the front-runners and the words “vocational education” are not anywhere on there to the best of my knowledge. Although all do support making the first few years of college free.

Campaigns are about winning; nothing else. You can’t govern if you do not win. And one of the ways you win is knowing what is important to voters. Drawing a distinction between vocational and what is thought of as traditional education is not only good messaging, it’s something vitally needed in this nation—more tradesmen and craftspersons. One way they could do this is to say to Mr. and Mrs. John Q. Public, “If you or your child doesn’t want to go to a traditional university, my plan will be just as strong to support your desired outcomes; whether it’s turning pages in a text book or turning a wrench on an engine block; whether it is learning how to operate on a human or operate a bulldozer; whether it is landing your partnership in a law firm or landing a private plane….”

That the Democrats running for office (thus far) are not hammering this topic when it is a very easy way to tap into the working class is really dumb politics.

I totally agree this is an important issue the dems MUST ADDRESS & one that hillary paid lil more than lip service to, to her own detriment, IMHO!!

I do not agree that dems, the left or anyone has an exclusive on smug, arrogant or even condescending attitudes towards others~perceived rivals.....

Very true. The politics of this topic seems like a no-brainer if you’re the Democratic Party. Not only would heavily investing in vocational education strengthen the nation, it would salve some wounds they have with the average Americans.

I'm sure you've never heard of that, a bachelors plus.......I'm shocked.

I guess he doesn't know there are specialized degrees. Like a Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering, Aviation Managment, Aviation Electronics. Etc.

Gee what is your degree in? Let me guess a BA with a major in advanced sanctuary city administration.

Damn Karl Marx resurrected.

Obviously not....Lots of people have bachelors plus...

Yup... They don't realize what rural life is like. They don't realize how their luxuries get to them in the first place...
