In Virginia, really?? Jesus. I've been there, but only to VA Beach.
As long as we have theocrats, we'll have "racial" bigotry. I rember Dixie explaining to me how God created the "races" - something to do with the Tower of Babel, I think.
Hopefully, someday, rationality and enlightenment will prevail. There is no scientific or biological basis for separating people into "races". We all have the same DNA. We are, in fact, ALL children of africa. Our skin pigment and hair simply changed to suit the climates our ancestors migrated to out of africa.
LOL I remember IH8 taking him to school in that debate. Even though Babelyonians were separated by language not "race".
(by the way, I love how we are now quoting "race" I'm always a little bothered by the unscientific connotations implied of the word)

Not only the south. A friend of mine grew up in Ohio, married a Korean girl that was adopted by White americans as an infant and grew up American.
He moved to FL to escape the biggotry in Ohio. It is not just a white black thing.

I prefer skin color, or ethnicity to "race". Skin color and ethnicity are tangible. Race isn't.
I mean what "race" are those aborigines in Australia? They're just a dark-skinned as any sub-saharan african

Had I walked into the store I would be tempted to kick something over. I've fortunately never witnessed something that overt. Virginia has its good and bad parts. You've got to know where to go. Even New Jersey has bad parts. Stay out of the Pine Barrens. Weird people there.

That is so true. It would save me both the time and money I spend on putting Jergens moisterizing lotion on every day, it has a slight self-tanner in it. Without that, I couldn't spend all spring and summer wearing skirts with no stockings, and I have refused to wear stockings for several years now. It's very freeing, they are horrid. But so are milky pale white legs.
