The Trinity

Yeah, Sheed lost me with his claim “God revealed to us”. Then, followed by word salad and hair-pulling diversions. He’s an apologist and tries quite poorly to do that.

You can't learn anything from propagandists and dogmatic ideologues.

Genesis 1:2

Isn't that in reference to God's breath?

Again, from Strong's: רוּחַ rûwach, roo'-akh; from H7306; wind; by resemblance breath, i.e. a sensible (or even violent) exhalation; figuratively, life, anger, unsubstantiality; by extension, a region of the sky; by resemblance spirit, but only of a rational being (including its expression and functions):—air, anger, blast, breath, × cool, courage, mind, × quarter, × side, spirit(-ual), tempest, × vain, (whirl-) wind(-y).

another thread started by a JPP atheist to "prove" the superiority of t=hia beliefs.....

Actually, this is a topic that historically has been fraught. The whole bit about Erasmus indicates that there is some historical justification for at least discussing the topic.

I don't see a problem with a "Triune God" if one has a God at all. But it is VERY interesting to see how the concept evolved within the faith. And we have a lot of the record to show us how "the sausage was made". Sometimes it is not appealing.

No, I think when they talk about God's breath on the waters it would mean he is blowing on the waters. Not that an ineffible spirit was somehow there.

Is my breath a separate being from me?
