That's so horrible. Hopefully they got a lot of negative attention and have improved their conditions. I complained once to the STL Zoo about the pair of hyacinth macaws they had in the avian house. They had trees to climb on and a nest box, but no toys or other enrichment. The first response was that they were there to breed and didn't need toys. I explained how intelligent they are, and that breeding is only part of their lives. I enlisted the help of our parrot club members to weigh in. The next time we went, they had toys and shredding materials, and food items hidden for foraging fun. I think from this that the Zoo ppl really do care about them.

Like the deportations, he'll pardon some. The non-violent ones are already out of prison so pardoning them simply removes the felony off their record IIRC.

I doubt he'll pardon the violent ones....the very ones he threw under the bus and refused to pardon in the weeks following 1/6. LOL

I'm a member of the Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance. It is humane and thoughtful. I think the facility has probably been completely redesigned since you visited.
