Trump Administration moves to end legal marijuana.

What the SCOTUS "allows" does not necessarily mean it is required. For example, the SCOTUS has ruled that after the 27th week you can simply ban all abortions, but almost no state does. The SCOTUS, even if it decided that MJ was the "worst drug that ever existed" because they all watched Reefer Madness the night before, it wouldn't mean that the Congress cannot pass a law that doesn't treat it as such.

The reality is, the best way to change the law is to simply elect people that will vote differently than those who have voted on this in the past.

And that's how liberals have been able to have the FEDS overturn the laws banning MJ.

OH, WAIT - they haven't done so; FOR OVER 3+ DECADES. :palm:

Unfortunately, Obama stepped in and gave the Dem congress critters cover by putting a temporary hold on prosecutions.

So none of the Dems had to risk their re-election chances by being forced to vote on a controversial issue like MJ.

Now, Trump has put it right back in the laps of congress, just like he has, rightfully, done with DACA.

It really isn't a liberal/conservative issue. It really is simple logic. We either learn from the past or we repeat it, in this case we've collectively chosen to stupidly repeat the violence, etc. that comes along with a black market. Wars on stuff never come to an end, it is a simple control tool.

Dems, when they get in power do not change the laws because the control is what those in power seek, not to serve. The people forget that these are employees and allow these people to break the laws they are sworn to uphold... It may take a while but it is always worth it to fight on the side of personal freedom and responsibility that were defined by the founding documents.

And with this post, you have effectively destroyed every liberals argument as to why it hasn't been changed and IS STILL THE LAW OF THE LAND. :good4u:

I assert that the reason liberal law makers haven't pushed for it to be changed, is because if the change goes south (so to speak) that they don't want to be seen as the "responsible" party.

And aren't all those "smokers" from the 60's through the 80's, including their representatives, now adults and of voting age;?

:evilnod:

This shouldn't be a complicated issue for conservatives who profess to be for smaller government & states rights. If you find yourself supporting this measure by Sessions, you may want to step back and examine your views - and ask yourself if you're just programmed to defend anything this admin does now.

The marijuana issue has been decided by the people & the states. It should be over. What Sessions is doing is no different from the 'active judiciary' many of you complain about when it comes to issues like gay marriage.

For ANYONE who values liberty, this is a no brainer - Sessions is out of bounds here. He is opposing the will of the people, period.

He is following the law. Period. End of story.

All of you teeth gnashing doesn’t change that

Change the law. Stop whining on a message board

Go smoke a joint and relax. Or better yet, shoot up some heroin. I hear it is good for you

Opioid deaths are down over 25% in states where pot is legal.

Imagine being someone who relies on medication for pain, and having an admin that is aggressively going after both opioids and marijuana. What do they expect people to use...aspirin?

No common sense in this policy move. Just paranoia.

You are so fucking stupid.

Nobody is going to,stop you from getting high. Although it does explain the lack of coherence in your posting.

Really go shoot up some heroin. It will be good for you

People are going to smoke weed whether it's legal or not. If you support free markets why not support the decriminalization of weed and not have the govt spend so much time and money on it?

If pot is so innocuous then kids should be able to use it right?

if it has so many “medical” benefits, why is it never used in pediatric oncology patients?

Why aren’t they letting five year olds with chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting smoke a bong?

Like I said, given your life choices I understand your desire to want to alter your reality

Should we decriminalize cocaine? They are going to snort it no matter what?

Should we decriminalize heroin?

Now, I have said many times before that this is an issue I wrestle with.

But the discussion here really comes down to a Sessions following the law.

As Grind said, this isn’t an issue most people get worked up about. For me personally pot wouldn’t impact how I vote one way or another.

So you can play your games trying to back me into some ideological corner, but you are wasting your time.

My only interest in this issue is pointing out the many fallacies put forth by those that only want to get high.

Now get back to your Hillary worship

Alcohol, caffeine and even chocolate are much more "addictive" than weed. I know you're not making the argument that weed is addictive here, but it's silly to even entertain the notion on any level. Weed is about as harmless as any so-called "vice" out there.

Sessions views on it are unbelievably dated - there is no science to them. It really sickens me that someone so ignorant about marijuana can be setting policy on it.

Then why not let kids use it? You know if it is so “harmless”

Did you let your kids smoke your weed with you? Their friends?

It’s harmless family fun right?

What legislation has been proposed by Democrats in Congress to end the war on drugs? Do you hear either of our two California women Democratic Senators speaking out nationally against the drug war and wanting to end it?

What Democrat has been thrown out of office for their stance on drugs?

When will you blaze up with your daughter? Seven years old? Eight? Eleven? Thirteen?

Will you give her a pot party when she is sixteen?

Darla is well aware of my feelings about guns...she doesn't agree but accepts them.
She also disagrees vehemently about my feelings about Hillary.
That is the beauty of being a flexible minded accepting and tolerant Liberal, something no concrete thinking con could ever understand.

She also forces you to watch her take black cock cuckold boy

To play devils advocate, is weed something we want totally legalized? After all it does make its user paranoid and conspiratorial. If not downright crazy.

I have 2 friends that are heavy pot heads. One is convinced the Govt controls the weather. The other was convinced that local police were patrolling his street in unmarked cars and coming after him...

Is this good the country?

It’s good for the gobblement. A drugged society is a pliable society

You can see many of the pliable posting right here.

Yes sir. There are two around the corner from my house.

24 hours 7 days a week.........weed and edibles are available. All you need is to be at least 18 and have a id.

Georgia has a ways to go. They just arrested 70 Black people for less than 1 ounce of weed because no one claimed the weed and everyone was in the vicinity of it. That's an additional 70 Black people with police records who did not have them before.

You can thank the war on drugs for that.

Wait. Have an ID? Why do they make you have ID? Isn’t that fucking racist? Doesn’t it keep the negro from getting high?

We are told ID laws are racist.

THX-1138 ?

There's substantial reason to question which society, which People, which citizens are more pliable:
- those who allow themselves to be dictated to: which drugs they have their government's permission to possess, and which not, vs
- those who seize their own rightful power, the power the United States is premised on, Founded on, and force their over-bearing martially oppressive, punitive government to BACK OFF !!

Drug War presumes to impose EXTERNAL control; the panacea of authoritarians.
But self-control is clearly the superior standard.

Reductio ad absurdum:
Our authoritarian regime is NOT helping to make us more independent, more self-reliant.

Our authoritarian government has us clinging to our government for what we deem essential:

- make sure our food is safe FDA
- make sure nobody runs a stop sign traffic COPs
- make sure senior citizens don't starve to death Social Security administration

and on, and on, and on.

"I know of no safe depository of the ultimate powers of society but the people themselves, and if we think them not enlightened enough to exercise control with a wholesome discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them, but to inform their discretion." Thomas Jefferson: author DOI

One thing I have learned from this thread is that there are a lot of sad, lonely people with meaningless lives hiding behind drugs.

"Funny they never tried Marinol dontcha think?
All this talk about medical marijuana and there is an FDA approved option nobody ever references.
Why do you think that is?" TD #797

"A prudent question is one half of wisdom." William James
a) No.
This is a Drug War topic. So Marinol is irrelevant to the topic of Trump Administration moves to end legal marijuana because Marinol is a legal patented pharmaceutical, and marijuana is a natural unpatentable herb.

b) Millions in our nation and around the world prefer natural treatments to artificial drugs.

c) Marijuana is typically inhaled, absorbed to psychotropic levels via the lungs. As a result marijuana is faster acting than Marinol, which in vivid contrast is absorbed through the digestive tract.

d) Because of "c", marijuana can be dosed far more precisely, the patient only taking as much as is needed; whereas Marinol must be consumed in the dose predetermined by the pharmaceutical manufacturer, who in all likelihood never met the patient.

Many thanks for asking TD.

You have helped, no matter how inadvertently, to clarify an important distinction in our federal government's War against the People, under the guise of a War on this useful herb, marijuana / hemp / cannabis.

ah
So YOUR life is meaningful, because it has meaning for you, while their lives are "meaningless" because their lives are not meaningful to you. Got it.

Your ignorance is a blinding beacon of self-righteous contempt and ignorance.

FYI in the context of cosmic heat death, all life is meaningless. Your insinuation that yours is more meaningful than anyone else's is conspicuous self-aggrandizing delusion.

Right back atcha cupcake.
The difference is, they're living their lives without trying to lift themselves up, by putting others down. You know, the way you do.
