investigations. That is what reporters do. They scour public records and talk to witnesses and use FOIA. A report like this has encouraged the state to go through trumps taxes. they have that power.

But they cannot use information that was not obtained with a warrant. Not even to launch an investigation. It's like that information doesn't even exist.
 
What's really funny is that Democrats actually believe that this is going to do them any good. They can't indict Trump. They can only try to impeach him. And they will never get the 60 votes required. Besides, you cannot impeach a President for something they did before they were elected. Idiots.

I find myself reluctantly agreeing with you. The biggest mistake we ever made was giving our Congressmen paychecks. It was never intended as a career. Anywhere you have money, you have corruption. Here's a Biblical quote anyone can agree with. "The love of money is the root of all evil".

The Times alleges that Trump set up a fake corporation to disguise millions of dollars in gifts from their parents.


WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump engaged in tax schemes that included cases of outright fraud in which he and his siblings helped their parents dodge taxes, the New York Times reported on Tuesday.


The Times investigation, which a Trump lawyer said was inaccurate, showed Trump received the equivalent today of at least $413 million from his father’s real estate business, citing a “vast trove” of confidential tax return and financial records.




The Times reported that much of that fortune came to Trump because he helped his parents evade taxes, setting up a fake corporation with his siblings to disguise millions of dollars in gifts from their parents. During his presidential campaign, Trump promoted himself as a self-made real estate mogul who started out with only a “very small” loan from his businessman father, Fred Trump.”


The Times said its findings were based on more than 200 tax returns from Fred Trump, his companies and various Trump partnerships and trusts. The records did not include Donald Trump’s personal tax returns. Trump lawyer Charles Harder told the Times: “President Trump had virtually no involvement whatsoever with these matters.”

Harder added: “The affairs were handled by other Trump family members who were not experts themselves and therefore relied entirely upon the aforementioned licensed professionals to ensure full compliance with the law.”

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the report. Reuters has not been able to verify the report.

The New York State Tax Department said on Tuesday that it was probing the allegations laid out in the Times report.

The newspaper said the report was based on interviews with Fred Trump’s former employees and advisers and more than 100,000 pages of documents describing the inner workings of his business empire.

“The investigation also draws on tens of thousands of pages of confidential records — bank statements, financial audits, accounting ledgers, cash disbursement reports, invoices and canceled checks,” the Times said.

the information is irrelevant. All it did was encourage them to look. It is not proof, but more pointing out that it was likely they avoided taxes. The state is merely checking. if they find lawbreaking they will make a decision whether or not to charge or assess fines.

You are so dishonest. This newspaper investigation was fairly and legally obtained. The crime we can both agree is what the Trump family did. Hope they get a nice fair investigation into what happened. Don't you? Of course, you do, you want the legal and proper paying of taxes for the wealthy, don't you?
You fall asleep during the hearings? Ford was careful controlled and honest. Even Trump agreed. Brett was a big crybaby, emotionally distraught and showing why he did not deserve consideration. But of course, swiftboating Ford was done. I am sure you saw through that and and criticized her abuse.

If they had nothing to fear, why didn't the Repubs open it up. There were 80 people with information they wanted to share with the FBI. Trump was all for it, but McGahn got involved.He shut it down to get the result he wanted, not the facts.
