I can tell you that my workplace is hiring several six figure positions (and not low six figures) as soon as possible, with non citizens being very hard to hire for security reasons.

When trump was president, he had security audits that got into Russian hands. That is not just sending jobs overseas, but our national infrastructure security overseas.

Overpaying anyone is a poor investment for a business. That being said, Americans keep increasing their productivity, so are worth paying more. And there is more demand for limited American workers, so again, that makes them worth more.
