Every COVID patient is compensated for by insurance of by the government. Some lose money some make money. As we get better at treatment the hospitals are making more money. Some hospitals are very closely controlled by their medical staff who hold the ultimate purse strings because they admit the life blood of the hospital...patients. A lot of hospitals are owned by the staff. I own a few shares of a hospital in Arlington Texas. Its pretty common. Hospitals sell shares of the hospital to local docs on the hope that docs will admit their patient there. I bought in there to preform pain procedures and to administer anesthesia for some surgeon friends.

It's actually Medicare that pays the hospitals for each patient.

That makes no sense or they wouldn’t be doing electives now.

In March/April when the shutdown occurred the virus was virusing in the northeast and not in OK, WV, AZ etc etc. So thousands of hospitals across the country were forced to stop doing electives and the consequences were grotesque: hospitals were forced to layoff/furlough staff; cancer screenings were delayed; tens of thousands of healthcare workers were forced out of the game [during a pandemic] and put on unemployment [needlessly] and cost the government who even knows how much money.

And it was all pointless because Fauci and rest got suckered into some dubious projections derived from spurious computer models.

It was a total cluster F* on steroids.

Maybe Biden will get a chance to use his Magic COVID Wand soon. Or maybe not.

With some ‘imaginative coding’ hospitals can make money on COVID.

They wouldn’t do that, would they?

The emphasis needs to be on social distancing. Masks inside of gathering s is fine -but no lockdowns

My fav Chinese restaurant went all takeout, and put up a temporary partition where the lobby was,
and they pass the food back and forth thru a cut out
He's doing bout 80% of his normal business, the waitress is screwed, but the business is not

To whatever extent lockdowns mitigate, the virus just picks up where it left off after opening. Leads to what I call the Lockdown Two Step: lockdown-open-lockdown-open.

Not sure any affected economy would survive the second lockdown. And no, lefties, it’s not just about money. Lockdowns cause *significant* social damage in the form of increased suicides, mental health issues, increase drug/alcohol abuse, increased deaths from delayed healthcare and on and on.

And it’s just one of the major issues on the table tomorrow: Biden will follow the ‘approved scientists’ and lock us down again. Thank God for our form of government though, since Biden can only make that recommendation to the governors.

What's true about a paper boy and a lemonade stand is true about doctors. What was reprehensible and deplorable
is that these heroes were accused of stealing by the fat orange impotus.

Why is it necessary to tell lies about my claim?

How would Medicare be able to tell if patients were being falsely coded as COVID positive when over cycled PCR tests are simply reported +/- for COVID.

Positive test = Covid case. Deal with it. Therefore those tests are not falsely coded. You didn't learn much about the insurance business, did you?

Like I told someone the other day, sooner or later people are just going to rebel, at some point, in Europe.

IF Biden gets in, it would actually be interesting to see if he follows through with it [this is assuming these spikes aren’t here-then-gone like the summer spikes].

Reason being, Biden would be shutting HIS economy down this time. It’s no longer a matter of getting the Bad Orange Man out of office so that could get interesting.

Europe lacks that dynamic. Maybe they’re just slow learners, idk.
