I was reading that airliners now run significantly slower than they did decades ago in order to save fuel...something like 20% slower....is this correct?
I cant recall anyone saying that before, but if true it is just one more reason why flying is nowhere near as fun as it used to be, in fact now it rather sucks unless one is First Class.
trump's airplane is more important than the southern border crisis........more important than the Afghan withdrawal........more important than runaway inflation.........more important than the Maricopa voting mess.......you can tell, because all the lib'ruls are over here posting.......
You forgot that it's affordable.
If Trump is actually getting Trump Force One in the air again, after he had decided to not, that is important news.
I'm guessing it'll never fly again. Trump will turn it into an extra show piece for his Presidential Library and Casino. Graceland has Elvis's jet on display too and everyone knows Trump has to be better than anyone to compensate for his..ahem...shortcomings. LOL

He never decided not use the 757 again. The plane is down for maintenance and repainting. It's awaiting an engine because the inspection showed sufficient problems in the one engine that it's just cheaper to replace it. These things can develop cracks over time, you know. This engine may have ingested a bird or something without the pilot ever knowing about it. Smaller birds will go through the engine without immediate effect. They really are pretty tough for what they do.
Trump temporarily mothballed the 757 while he used Air Force 1. He's had the Citation for awhile now. It's always been faster and easier to get into smaller airports. The thing is a little speed rocket. It can cruise at Mach 0.92 (763mph), while the 757 requires larger airports and can only go at 610mph as a top speed. The 757 is more useful for larger numbers of guests.
I'd love to have a Citation. They ain't cheap though! The last time I flew a 757 was a test flight after repairs. My copilot, a good friend of mine, was an ex-trucker. That flight lasted about an hour while we checked the systems. That aircraft had come in for some avionics faults (turned out to be a corroded antenna connection, easily fixed), and a plugged lavatory (it takes a licensed A&P to fix those! .
I prefer working on smaller aircraft nowadays.

I know you are a Russian asset
Since he's fixing it and repainting it, you are quite probably wrong. But, when has that ever stopped you, sock?

Hello Dutch,
Saw that plane and everything else at Graceland. Pretty cool. He had a lotta cool cars and motorcycles, too. And a fleet of golf carts. When they would get tired of being inside working on music the band would go out back and have golf cart races.
How the mighty have fallen...
Boeing to Cessna:
"Donald Trump's taking to the friendly skies in a not-so-friendly plane for someone who was the most powerful man on Earth a couple months ago ... a jet so compact he can't stand up in it!!!
Trump was spotted by the DailyMail in NYC taking a few short steps into what appears to be a Cessna Citation X ... a super-midsize jet that's the envy of all social media influencers but a basic bird for your average CEO. The jet's reportedly a 1997 model registered to the Trump Org."
From Air Force One to This Tiny Jet?!? Flying Like Average CEO
Slumming it.
Too bad he can't even stand up.
"You are now free to crawl about the airplane."
I liked his .45.
My wife had Graceland on her bucket list and, a few years back, we took an hour detour to go to Graceland. The plan was to see Graceland one day and the Memphis Belle the next, but the airplane had been moved to Wright-Pat because the city of Memphis wasn't able to pay for restoration.
It's now on display at Wright-Patterson AFB, another line on my bucket list: https://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/Visit.aspx
