Truth About Mandatory 'Safety Device' Biden Signed Into Law - This Is the Power Gover

Yes they are dangerous, and there's a reason I disconnected the fuse for mine in my vehicle. I was working at a restaurant and this lady who was a regular was turning into the parking lot and got lightly T-boned, very low impact, under 10 MPH. She was in a convertible car, and it all

happened right in front of me because I out front doing..something. So she takes a breath and turns to me and goes to say something, and POW! The airbag hits her right in the face. Next thing I know she's getting hauled off on a gurney. That's fucked up.

The accident was well over with and that airbag hurt her pretty bad.

I didn't realize they had airbags in a '78 pinto. Cool.

"Here is a few million dollars, see if you can design a safer car, and get back to us if you do." That is basically what is being said, and it does not seem very corrupt to me. It is a bit directionless, but if it bares fruit, that is good.

No it is about control not safety. Just electronic logs for truckers. Accidents did not decrease when they were made mandatory for safety reasons

Cool is what you are not. Derp is what you are.

Who the fuck said it wasn't a right? Geez...what an asshole you are

I said it wasn’t a right because it isn’t.

Therefore none of what the op is whining about is some kind of invasion of privacy that violates the constitution.

Why isn't it an invasion of privacy? It invades the privacy of those who have a glass or two of wine with dinner and are NOT under the influence. Not to mention the added cost of installation in already high priced automobiles.

BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO INHERENT RIGHT TO DRIVE. My God are you this daft?

This isn't the first time this sort of thing has happened. Nor will it be the last, unfortunately.

No, my comment went right over your head, because YOU are a fucking ignoramus. Driving is not a right. Get it, hammerhead?

Yes it is. You don't even need a license if you drive it on your own land.

All States have 'shall issue' laws for drivers licenses. They MUST issue the license so long as you can pass their very simple road test and written test.

Interestingly, you don't need a driver's license at all to drive something like a tractor or backhoe...

Clearly Gardner has never operated a backhoe. To be employed to operate a backhoe, you must be OSHA certified. Any employer who allowed you to operate a backhoe without certification would be running an unsafe worksite. That includes self-employed people.

Technically that does not prohibit "recreational backhoe-ing", but no one is going to sell, or rent a backhoe to an unsafe "recreational backhoe-er".

Bullshit! I own a John Deere 410D built in 1978. There is no OSHA certification. Even people that get licensed as Operating Engineers and operate heavier machinery don't go through OSHA, they go through a union apprenticeship or take training classes.

I've rented backhoes on occasion, and I've priced buying a new, smaller one, now that I really don't need a full-size model anymore. None of that requires any sort of license. I've operated small excavators too.

In fact, you can go to Home fucking Depot and rent a backhoe with ZERO experience if you really want to.

Need bigger? Sunbelt will rent me one of these tomorrow:

I can go to Caterpillar or John Deere tomorrow and plunk down about 250,000 and buy a brand new one if I want (not that I'm going to do that). Hell, at John Deere, (RDO is the dealer) I already have an account for parts and work on my backhoe.

In fact, I recently used mine to dig new gas lines at an old hotel off Grand Ave here in Phoenix that the new owner--some pro athlete I was told--bought as he wanted to get into being a real estate mogul. The work was permitted through the City of Phoenix and the inspector said NOTHING about my doing it. All he was interested in was if the lines were at the correct depth, that back fill was done properly, and the guy making the connections in the line was certified for gas.

Clearly Gardner knows nothing. OSHA certification happens through an employer or more rarely a union. OSHA does not actually give classes or test anyone.
