"Translation: We have an anti-science republican government. A government that doesn't believe in stem cell research, alternative energy, global warming, or evolution."
Translation of translation: I am a Democrat and I will exagerate the truth or outright lie, because it makes me feel warm and cozy inside.
1) The government funds many lines of stem cell research. They do not fund embryonic stem cell research. Big exageration on your part... and a very common ploy by the left.
**Yes, and what do they do with those embryonic cells? Couple have a number of choices, a.) Dispose of them b.) donate them to infertile couples c.) Donate them for research d.) have them preserved.
Now which of these choices is the most popular?**
2) This government has invested more than any other in alternative energy. Are they perfect? No. But a gross exageration on your part yet again.... another typical line of BS from the left.
***Bush has increased the funds for hydrogen cells.***
3) Global warming. Give you this one, until recently it was true. The left will continue trying to force consensus that Man is the primary source of warming, rather than focusing all efforts on eliminating as much air, water and land pollution as possible. Thus wasting valuable resources on one pointless study after another.
4) You will need to show me evidence that the majority of Republicans think that evolution has not occured.
Polls show between 73% of the Republicans, 58% of Democrats and 57% of Indenpendant, believe in Creationism. Now I understand why I don't register with any of these folks.
44%-47% of the people in the United States believe the Earth is less than 10,000 years old...Harris poll conducted from 1982-2006. Pew poll showed the same, but CNN-Gallop poll done in 2006 showed between 51%-53%
5) Bottom line: this government is not "anti-science". Science has bounced up against morality before. Some do not believe that science should be able to do whatever it chooses.
***See after your statements***
Since the Reagan administration science has been taking a backseat in America. All this teaching to the test is killing our kids imagination and creative thinking. It is very sad and I am glad my children are educated or
are presently in college. I will fight to see that my granddaughter gets a good education, even if it means supplementing at home which is a parents job, anyway, we are their first and always teachers.
