APP - Veterans for Trump

I'm a vet and I voted for him --- primarily because the alternative was orders of magnitude worse. By the way the libs did it too - they ran away to Canada and then when it was over they whined to be allowed to come home. Plus check out how old Joe Biden skirted his duty to serve. In that respect he and Trump are a pair. I personally think the libs were worse draft dodgers than the cons ---- but then I tend to be a tad bit rightwing.

You are allowed your biases and its nice that you admit them, but if you are a serious student of why one is better or more qualified than the other you need to do some homework. And while I agree conscientious objectors did the same, at least they acted and took a stand, the rich and privileged paid off doctors and hid. There is a difference.

"What is patriotism? Let us begin with what patriotism is not. It is not patriotic to dodge the draft and to mock war heroes and their families. It is not patriotic to discriminate against active-duty members of the armed forces in one's companies, or to campaign to keep disabled veterans away from one's property. It is not patriotic to compare one's search for sexual partners in New York with the military service in Vietnam that one has dodged. It is not patriotic to avoid paying taxes, especially when American working families do pay. It is not patriotic to ask those working, taxpaying American families to finance one's own presidential campaign, and then to spend their contributions in one's own companies. It is not patriotic to admire foreign dictators. It is not patriotic to cultivate a relationship with Muammar Gaddafi; or to say that Bashar al-Assad and Vladimir Putin are superior leaders. It is not patriotic to call upon Russia to intervene in an American presidential election. It is not patriotic to cite Russian propaganda at rallies." Timothy Snyder

While Hunter Thompson in article below is writing about another republican president who faced impeachment, it is curious that republicans and so called conservatives elect the worst of the worst.

"It is difficult for the ordinary voter to come to grips with the notion that a truly evil man, a truthless monster with the brains of a king rat and the soul of a cockroach, is about to be sworn in as the president of the United States for the next four years. . . . And he will bring his gang in with him, a mean network of lawyers and salesmen and pimps who will loot the national treasury, warp the laws, mock the rules and stay awake 22 hours a day looking for at least one reason to declare war, officially, on some hapless tribe in the Sahara or heathen fanatic like the Ayatollah Khomeini."

"In Hell’s Angels, the gonzo journalist wrote about left-behind people motivated only by “an ethic of total retaliation.” Sound familiar?"

Good to see Trump and family caught in their constant dishonesty and thievery. See book at bottom too.

To all my fellow Vets, have a great day, week, month year etc etc etc.... james

My family is full of vets. Now that everyone wears hats or T-shirts, it is funny, talking about our various experiences. One Air force Nam vet in WaWa recently talked my head off. lol

"There’s little in this world that has the emotional manipulative power of a good tribalized — us versus them — narrative. It’s a contagion, and thanks to social media, or “participatory propaganda,” highly viral."

"Believing in conspiracy theories is a psychological construct for people to take back some semblance of control in their lives. It inflates their sense of importance. It makes them feel they have access to “special knowledge” that the rest of the world is “too blind,” “too dumb” or “too corrupt” to understand."

"I can explain the art and purpose behind throwing a Purple Heart veteran under the Fox News bus. First, we must talk about narratives. In my time at Fox News, narratives were weapons of mass emotional manipulation, what the Nobel laureate Robert J. Shiller defines in “Narrative Economics” as “contagious stories” — as he put it in a paper of the same name, “a simple story or easily expressed explanation of events that many people want to bring up in conversation or on news or social media because it can be used to stimulate the concerns or emotions of others, and/or because it appears to advance self-interest.” One recent report said that we find information or misinformation “22 times more memorable in narrative form.”"

and this:

"The human brain has always been highly tuned towards narratives, whether factual or not, to justify ongoing actions, even such basic actions as spending and investing. Stories motivate and connect activities to deeply felt values and needs. Narratives “go viral” and spread far, even worldwide, with economic impact. The 1920-21 Depression, the Great Depression of the 1930s, the so-called “Great Recession” of 2007-9 and the contentious political economic situation of today, are considered as the results of the popular narratives of their respective times. Though these narratives are deeply human phenomena that are difficult to study in a scientific manner, quantitative analysis may help us gain a better understanding of these epidemics in the future."

Trump plays his base with an act of concern while in the background his only support is for image and his wealthy supporters. One wonders when Americans will wake and 'Make the White House Great Again'? Oh and make America concerned and proud again.

Now Trump wants a Fox spokesperson fired because they confirmed this information. A draft dodger with a made up excuse for not serving the nation should keep quiet.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...ld-Trump-called-WWI-Marine-heroes-losers.html

"Trump called US soldiers killed or injured 'losers' and 'suckers', senior administration sources told the Atlantic
The Atlantic says Trump cancelled a visit a US war grave because he was worried about his hair in the rain
The president was expected to attend a ceremony at the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery in Paris in 2018
He reportedly asked: 'Why should I go to that cemetery? It's filled with losers'
He also allegedly referred to 1,800 Marines who died in the WWI Battle of Belleau Wood in France as 'suckers'
He reportedly asked 'Who were the good guys in this war?'
Trump is also alleged to have said he didn't understand why the US would intervene on the side of the Allies
The president allegedly said those who served in the Vietnam were 'losers' as they failed to dodge the draft
Fox News and the Washington Post have confirmed the reporting, while AP has confirmed part of it
The White House mounted furious pushback, hammering the piece for using anonymous sources
Melania Trump on Friday said the story was false and 'activism'
Trump suggested that John Kelly - who has remained silent on the report - was a source for the 'false' story
Trump also said Fox News reporter Jennifer Griffin, who confirmed the Atlantic story, should be fired"

A republican on Donnie John Trump lying. What else is new.

'Everyone Knows It’s True'

"As Trump vehemently disputes reports that he has disparaged veterans, some silences speak loudly."

“I heard him stumbling on trying to remember my husband’s name. And that what’s hurting me the most. Because if my husband was out here fighting for our country, and he risked his life for our country, why can’t you remember his name?” Talking to Trump about her fallen husband, Myeshia Johnson said, “made me upset and cry even more.”

Mental illness or insecurity or a lack of education and humility? It is a easy choice as Pres Trump is simply in a position way above his ability. Again I want to mention Hitler as friends have. What was Hitler's appeal? You can answer that, but those who read history know he was incompetent, his decision to invade Russia stupid. Trump like H has a glorified sense of self, but Trump failed in every business venture. Trump has failed as President unless caging children and dividing families while golfing on a bad foot after avoiding military service is an accomplishment. We can give him that.
