He could had prevented the girl in pink from being stabbed to death by shooting the girl in pink to death. That way she would have died by gun shot rather than by stabbing.

He should have fired his gun in the air or into the ground, ANNOUNCED HIS PRESENCE AND DEMANDED THAT SHE DROP THE KNIFE. THE WARNING SHOT WOULD HAVE FROZEN EVERYBODY IN PLACE.

I’m confused. Hasn’t it always been police policy to announce their presence and warn about the use of deadly force BEFORE actually using it?

She obviously knew he was present because he was right behind the other girl she chased to the ground. The assailant was in mid swing with the knife if he had fired a warning shot the girl in pink would have been stabbed. Moron.

If it was in mid-swing, the girl would have been stabbed. Not true. Why are rightys such liars? Also, people usually survive stabbings, not 4 bullets to the chest.

I don't need to watch the video over and over and over again. It is OBVIOUS the cop had 1/2 second to make a decision. So stop projecting your failures on me.

Now, do you think that shooting 4 times is excessive?

[2] Shoot multiple times at center mass.
[3] Shoot multiple times at center mass.


He barely had time to draw his gun before he had to fire it, and aiming for anything less than center mass would increase the chance for him to miss and the chance for pink clothing girl to get stabbed to death... same for only firing once instead of multiple times.

The cop followed his training, and did a damn good job in that situation. He even saved two black lives, which is two more black lives than BLM has ever saved. This cop should be praised for a job well done.

None of those are plausible.

At moments of adrenaline fueled rage people frequently get shot without even realizing it. The assailant and the victim were next to each other and had he tried to shoot the knife hand or arm he would have very likely shot the girl in pink. If he had shot her in the leg it probably not stopped her from completing he deadly swing. Taser frequently don't work and would put the girl in pink at risk. A "judo" move? Seriously. The officer was 15 feet away and the girl was in mid swing. There is no way he could have stopped her in time.

I think most of us feel sorry for the assailant . She was a foster child and probably had a bad shake in life. But any 16 y.o. should know you should never pick up a knife and try to stab someone.
