What should the US do if Washington DC is made a state?

The capitol bldg complex would become DC. DC had a population larger than 2 states and roughly equivalent to 3 others.

Our Constitution simply didn't give us a very good form of government.
More modern democracies don't have our problems with the shockingly ignorant element being overrepresented.

You are not responding to my comment. You are responding to YOUR comment. You are making a straw man fallacy. The number of people in any State is irrelevant. The Constitution of the United States forbids the District of Columbia from becoming a State. It is a federal territory. See Article I.
You might as well try to make a fort a State.

Democracies do not have a constitution. There are currently no democracies anywhere in the world.
The purpose of any constitution is to declare and define a government and to give it certain powers and authorities. It has NO legal power or authority except that specifically given by that founding document. If a constitution is discarded, the government it defined is dissolved. Constitutions are created by people or States. The States created the Constitution of the United States. They own it. Only they can change it. Only they can interpret it. Only they can destroy it.
The constitution of a State is owned by the people of that State. They created it. Only they can change it. Only they can destroy it.

A government by constitution is called a 'republic'. Republics have representatives. Democracies do not.

The Constitution of the United is the ONLY authoritative reference of the Constitution of the United States.
No, the United States is not a democracy. It has a Constitution.
