First of all, 10% of $1M is $100,000, not $10,000, math genius.

Secondly, it's not the whole $1M that is taxed at 90%...it's the income over whatever that bracket is that gets taxed at that rate. So if the tax rate is 90% on income $500K and above, then $500K would be subject to the 90% rate, not the full $1M.

And also, this is a rate on the wage, not on things like deferred compensation, pass-thru, capital gains, or other forms of income that are taxed at a different rate.

This is how progressive taxation works.

Which has nothing to do with the tax rate on wages.

Germany and Japan being "more competitive" by the 1970's has nothing to do with the tax rate on the top bracket.

The effective tax rate includes income from all sources regardless of the rate at which the money is taxed. I am not withholding anything. I am reporting the IRS effective tax rates which includes all sources.

No, I did not say "all," I said "virtually" which means nearly or almost. I did not acknowledge that the bottom 40% pay virtually no federal income tax because of the tax cuts "you supported" because 1) it was irrelevant to the issue of the amount of income tax they pay 2) I did not support the Bush-Obama tax cuts or Trump tax cuts without corresponding cuts in spending.

What "crisis" are you talking about?

I didn't specify what I would cut because it was not the topic of conversation (you always divert to other issues) and it would take too long and you would never remember it, anyway.
