Dano doesn't really qualify as denialist. Depending on which day you catch him, he accepts global warming, but thinks & argues - against logic & science - that sudden changes in climate are actually good for the planet & the various species that inhabit it. Also, we'll have less snow shoveling, and it will be excellent for the ice cream industry....
Lorax, if you really value logic then try this.
With no global warming you would be sitting on a glacier in New York, would you consider that good?
Even you would say 'No', so that begs the question of how much warming is good. With all the thousands of years of climate change since the last ice age, why would you think that what exists now is optimal and by what standards?
The fact is you don't think of that, you just hear the loudest doomsday cries and match that to your primitive Gaia ideology of believing that the Earth is pristine and man's changes are inherently evil, that material sacrifice should be made based on your trepidations to appease the forces of nature.
I on the other hand, do think logically, have logically contrasted the pros and cons and see more pros than cons from more warming.
Yes less snow shovelling, less car accidents from ice, less snowstorms and blizzards, less cost in heating, less energy use from heating, less chance of home fires, more enjoyable weather, longer growing season and so on.
You just pick the strawman of the weakest argument and pretend that is all I think about and yes I understand in your primitive thinking that man's mortal concerns are nothing compared to the awesome decimation that awaits us should we defy people like you and care about them, but that is your outdated hangup, not mine.
Global warming is a good thing, overall.
The real science in climate change is showing that we are more certain of the earth warming and that we are less certain of the causes, I accept that and may change my mind as more evidence comes out and more is known.
