If mobility is a problem, I have two options; a kayak or an ultralight. Of course, just having an "accident" with the UL would do the trick in a pince too. Roll it on its back and spiral down full throttle. Much better than lying bed bitter and hateful.
Obviously that takes planning and not everyone has that option. A good friend of my, Jess Shryack, a great pilot who kept teaching into his 80s, had a stroke. Instant grounding, instant immobilization. He was bitter too but I suspect he was pissed because they didn't let him die and forced him to live in a wheelchair with one side paralyzed. He lived like that for another 5 years or so, driving everyone away from him. In that case, having a secret stash of pills, probably opioids, would have been useful.
