Why The Right Will Never Allow Solution To Islamic Jihad Problem...

right damo.

that's why I said their goal is to overthrow the apostate, pseudo-secular arab dictatorships. That is the power of their ideology. The corrupt arab regmies in place now, have very little true popular support.

Their goal is to unite all of Islam under one nation. The ultimate goal of the Caliphate is to take over the world. It is "prophesied"...

Just saying their goal is only to end those governments stops at a false end point and ignores the actual central theme of the "Foundation" or "Base" that they name themselves from. There is far more to them than just the ME, that is only the first goals that they believe they can actually reach.

The palestinian conflict is only one element of the Al Qaeda-inspired ideology - perhaps not even the most important one.

The al qaeda movement is, at its core, a regional insurgency who's goal is to overthrow the corrupt, apostate authoritarian regimes in arab countries who (in al qaeda's view) oppress their own people. Regime's like Saddam's was.

AQ do see Israel as a corrupt, apostate regime.

But what AQ see is irrelevant. What drives the Muslim people into supporting extremism is. And the Palestine issue is the single focus for most of the arguments used to garner support.

That will gradually change now to mix more with Iraq (which is why Bush should be tried for treason), but we won't ever resolve the jihadi issue (ie undermine, isolate and destroy) whilst the people of Palestine are ghettoised....

Islamic Jihad, which was the forefather of Al Qaeda, had the goal of overthrowing the Egytian regime. As it was considered corrupt, apostate, and puppets of the west.

I don't discount the palestinian conflict. But, at its core, the al qaeda ideology is to wrest power from the corrupt apostate regimes of the arab world.

Often the "corruption" is simply them creating a peace with Israel. Would Palestine suddenly be seen as "corrupt" were we to broker this peace?

I don't deny that, I'm stating that what AQ want is irrelevant.

The only thing relevant to our cause is what drives Muslims into supporting AQ and other Jihadis....

When we understand and recognise what radicalises Muslims across the world, we will be in a position to defeat the Jihadist movement. Until then, virtually our every action will exasperate the situation to some degree.

It would probably figure in AQ's agit-prop, but that wouldl be irrelevant.

With the arguments they (AQ) use to garner support neutralised, what AQ say will become less and less relevant to the Muslim people.

We shouldn't concern ourselves with what the hard-core extremists and Jihadists want.

We should be addressing the link between them and the Muslim people, the links that garner support and recruits for them, and attack that.

Divide and conquer works. It won this little wet island an empire....

Of course, the whole "you're either with us or against us" was a slogan for schoolchildren, not for an american statesmen.

A clever knowledgable president, with a nuanced view of geopolitics, would be able to exploit the myriad of conflicting interests in the muslim world, to isolate al qaeda and their adherents.

We, of course, have stupid Chimpanzee at the helm.

And we the Cheshire cat from Alice in Wonderland (the non-porno version)...

If Israels fate is already pre determined, why are we giving them billions and other aid ?
Should we just cut off this aid and let destiny take it's course ?

That aid is the best leverage we have.

If the US and EU threatened to cut of Israel and the PA, unless they came to the table to discuss a viable two state solution, we would have them by the balls..

We just have to twist...

Al Qaeda has a history of attacks and opposition to the regimes in Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Yemen and the Gulf States.

Nations which have yet to broker peace with Israel, and in many cases are violent enemies of israel.

Then you are suggesting we attack the Muslim clerics and mullahs. I agree, we should be bombing the mosques where this radicalism emanates from, and eradicate the schools and universities where this hate is taught. I think we've been far too politically correct in fighting this war, and it's time to take off the gloves, and do as you say, attack the real problem.

I understand that. However, previous to peace engagements with Israel Egypt had not been considered as horrid and corrupt as afterward. I believe that it is used as a way to insure that few others want to make official peace with them for fear of being targeted even more.

Aren't you allegedly a Christian?

I see nothing in Anyold's remarks that remotely resembles a suggestion to attack muslim clerics and mullahs or bombing mosques and schools.

What would Jesus do, Dixie?

Good idea, Dixie!

Well, here... I'll repost it...

We should be addressing the link between them and the Muslim people, the links that garner support and recruits for them, and attack that.

The link between the people and the terrorists, the link that garners support and recruits for them, is the radical perversion of Islam, preached from the mosques by the mullahs and clerics, and taught in the schools and universities. I agree, we should attack that!

I think Jesus would tell us to say tha the violence is wrong and to turn the other cheek; that he will take care of it when the time is right.
