What the progs don't realize or can't accept is that there are a lot of highly educated folks of differing races that are all in for Trump. And once again that's where they underestimate him.
Sure, plenty of poor whites like trump, but if that were his only support he never would have been elected.

The reason it matters is because Trump is so bad for the poor. It's not a surprise that the rich like Trump, we're not curious about that. What's really interesting is why so many poor people like him.
And when you consider how racially-charged politics has become, and that Whites are the only racial group where the majority still vote Republican, it is important to ask ourselves why this is.
