Why the way things are.

Yeah, folk in denial, the willful ignorant, the weak who sell out for a seat (near) the big table. These folk eventually get their wake up call....jus ask Powell and Rice.

Typical and expected. Niggers left the dim plantation and aren't allowed to think for themselves. You're a fucking racist though and through.

This was the case back in the 1880s when Democrats were preoccupied with passing Jim Crow laws. But, at least they weren't the party of big business!!
Much as I dislike both parties, the Democratic party of today is not the same as the Democratic party of the 1880s. Just as the Republican party of today is not the same as the Republican party of the 1880s. One appears to have gotten better. Can't say the same about the other one.

Nor are they the same as the 60's & early 70's..... IMHO both parties are much further to the right & many mainstream dems are about what the gop was back then....

both are now completely corporate controlled. trump is unique because he is backed by a breakaway nwo faction that still wants separate countries and not to kill everybody. they're family oriented factions of the black nobility. you think someone has a casino in atlantic city and does construction in new york and around the world isn't mobbed up?

Both parties have moved away from the middle and neither puts America first. Both need to be replaced, but they've got a hammerlock on the whole election process.

Meh, I'd say the GOP is just as good as back then. Dems are still equally worthless.

Before I read the comments on this let me say, ... Can’t believe I read that whole thing and it turned out to be nothing more than a plug for Bernie Sanders. Ok, I’ll go read some of the comments now.

Wow. What a story. Kind of a rambling thing as much about the author as about why poor whites favor Trump. Actually, she doesn't ever really explain why these people vote against their own better interest. She says several times she doesn't get it. She lays out the logic of why they should not be supporting these oligarchs. But still they do.

It makes no sense that people who are struggling financially should blame poor people.

Poor people don't have any power. They have no control over how things are.

Hello.

It's the rich and powerful who want to destroy jobs, eliminate labor expenses, make more money by screwing others, not because they need it but because they can.

Trump is not your friend. Even if he appears likable and says things you agree with. That's all an act, part of the con. He's an actor. He plays a part. The tough guy. The shrewd businessman. The deal maker. It's all baloney. He's a conman. He's the greatest conman around. He conned a nation. How long he gets away with it is up to those who got conned waking up and realizing their mistake. The best thing Trump supporters could do would be to take a fresh and critical look at him. Stop ignoring the vile nastiness. See him for what he is. He's a bully. Wake up and see the real Trump. He just wants power and wealth. He doesn't care about you. Many have tried to work for him and been burned. Being loyal to Trump often means taking the fall for him. He won't hesitate to throw anybody under the bus. Conmen don't care about their marks. He doesn't care about YOU.

Trump thinks poor people are morons.

Trump thinks a lot of his supporters are morons.

Trump is a taker.

He's making America more divided, hurting America. That's not great. Not great at all. It's a problem. It's a terrible problem caused by giving him power.

Trump: We can do better. Far better.

The best gem in the whole article actually answers the question of the PO Title:

"Why things are the way they are..."

It's a short little video called "Corruption Is Legal in America"

Here it is:

It was produced by an organization called "Represent.Us"

The organization has a credible plan to end political corruption in America. I kid you not. I dug further into it and found another, slightly longer vid called "Unbreaking America: A NEW Short Film about Solving the Corruption Crisis"

That vid in the next post
