Would the US be better off without the South?

Should we let the South succeed?

I don't know who the hell you think you are describing, but it is certainly not me. I am a college football fan. As for the rest of that nonsense about watching porn or faggot sitcoms", you are completely clueless about me.

I am not some fool to be led around by either political party or by fear mongers. I don't waste time watching television. I don't whine about shit on message boards, I am actually active in trying to promote Libertarianism, change the tax system, and make our leaders follow the US Constitution. I am proud of my service in the military, and was never told my oath to "..support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic;" expired when I left active duty.

That you think my watching football tells you anything other than that I like college football, shows your own ignorance.

I am educated. I am involved. I don't support anyone based on their party, geography, or skin color.

So try peddling your bullshit someplace else.

You're a liar and a new south progressive elitist.

So as to not get too personal and risk the wrath of pegged pants and the guy from Europe, I started a topic in the war zone specifically about you and your lot.

You're kissing leftist $&@ again.

They seperated the new south progressives and the traditional south conservatives by using the term redneck in a derogatory fashion and you know they did.

I'd like to see you make some sort of statement here besides agreeing with just about everything your fellow progressives say.

My statement to this....LOL! Love to start the day with a laugh.

If you insert that word in many sentences you get something disgusting. Redneck is not about race or about something you are born with or to. It is a chosen lifestyle. The only negative connotation to what I said was the "ignorant" part. Rednecks are great folks.
Well yea.....when they're not burning crosses in your yard they can be ahight. ;)

WB....ya know how Dixie could give the South a bad name? I'd like to introduce you to PhillyRabbit.....his northern cousin.

I thanked this post because I too identify with the term redneck ... For most anyway, the jury's still out on whether I'm ignorant or not. I also think the south doesn't have the market cornered on this ignorance thing.
or rednecks. There are more rednecks in Ohio than there are people in Arkansas. I've never identified with rednecks. As a kid raised on a farm and well aquanted with rural life I've always viewed being a redneck as a charicature of farmers/rural people. I know quite a few farmers who are very sophisticated, urbane, well edudated and savy busnessmen. I've known quite a few farmers daughters too. :)

As I just announced on the other board:

You're a scalawag and a traitor to your own people.

Where the hell are you from? I AM a southerner, a southern gentleman, and an unapologetic redneck.

You have tried repeatedly to describe me and have been way off base every time. You think you know me? You are just another angry fool spouting venom at anyone who disagrees with you.

I come from a long line of people willing to fight for what is right.

I have a crook in my nose to show for stopping two grown men (claimed to be klan) that were chasing an 8 or 9 year old boy down the street in Eutaw AL in 1977. One of the men had a big stick, and they were both yelling racial slurs as they chased him.

My father's drugstore window was broken 3 times because he was openly against George Wallace's stand on the steps at the Univ of Alabama.

Both my parents were involved in the Selma March.

My mother was asked to resign from a church volunteer group in Philadelphia MS because she spoke out against the atrocities there. I heard hints that there were threats against her until she & Dad moved to Tuscaloosa.

My grandfather had his barn burned down because he stood with a black farmer and helped him put out a burning cross in the man's yard. The black farmer had decided not to plant corn that year, and when the corn prices dropped, he did better than many white farmers with bigger farms. The KKK claimed he was "uppity".

I had it right the first time.

I was just yanking your chain WB. I know you're cool. ;)

Tell me what southern university you went to scalawag,

The University of North Carolina At Chapel Hill or LSU?

It has to be one or the other.

Would you care to elaborate as to what lie I have told?

The lie about how you and Hopple used the term rednecks. You and him and the other one repeatedly used the term to describe your enemies in a derogatory fashion then you tried to backtrack and claim the term wasn't derogatory. Hopple is still using it in this manner.

Please at least be a man about it. Be a man and stop trying to worm out of it, it's no big deal. It's like using hillbilly to describe undesirable and low class ignorant people who are your enemies.

It's like calling a black person a nig*er in this fashion. It's a racial, ethnic smear.

Let's move on. The cat's been long out of the bag. All the liberals here know all the code words you progressives use to identify to whom you're referring.
