A United Korea

I think everyone has seen those nighttime satellite photos, ... showing the near total absence of an electrical grid in Socialist NK.

It was TV that triggered the final collapse of East Germany. Specifically, a smuggled video of a huge protest march in East Berlin.

I suspect the Chinese will give him asylum when the time comes.

In a bizarre and ironic twist, Kim could become the George Washington of Noko ... by "courageously" surrendering all his power to the people, and "retiring" to a life of luxury in China.

Its shocking, isn't it? The NK people have been kept in the dark for generations.

I have never known anyone that consistently loves to piss into your cornflakes like you.
Your opinion. I've never known anyone who is so angry as to go out of his way to groan posts solely because you don't understand the topic.

That assumes Kim will EVER allow NK to join the 20th century (while everyone else is in the 21st) w/respect to modern technology/information.

He's living in luxury now. Why give up control of his family dynasty?

I just think his history of human rights violations is too great to overcome. Once his people learn the truth about him, they will turn against him.
could be. or he could be seen as a liberator from the family regime.
He's a young man. If he's smart he has to realize the tide of history is against the Hermit Kingdom as it is now

Because his reign can not withstand the scrutiny of foreign inspectors, with or without diplomatic immunity, being given free access to all of North Korea. ... and the impact of the information they leak or smuggle to Kim's subjects. And the information foreign inspectors leak to the outside world about the conditions there.

We are all speculating. It's just my opinion. I'm an optimist.

Yep, and the "Old Man", Trump, has given him a choice. We'll see what happens.

It will come about only if the two koreas want it, on their terms , not America's terms. Both the koreas goal is to get U.S. troops out ASAP so a united korea would be possible. Americas impact is waning in Asia while chinas is rising

it's fairly obvious re-unification expressed as Korean nationalism is wanted by both peoples.
China is a rising superpower -not so much that US influence is waning. Much of east Asia has close ties to the US

Credit Moon, Not Trump or Kim, for the Breakthrough With North Korea
South Korea’s president has been planning his peace gambit for his entire life. If peace breaks out on the peninsula, he’ll deserve the bulk of the applause. Yep

And moon knows how to handle trump and strokes his ego and make him look more important then he is in the process

True.

I don't assume that it's going to get to the point where Kim allows any inspectors. I see this as a years long project, with Kim offering the bare essentials in the beginning. Don't forget...the world now knows that trump never abided by his business contracts, and he certainly doesn't abide by any previous U.S trade/defense/peace agreements.

He can't be trusted. Why would Kim believe otherwise?

America is a dying empire and trump is helping it's demise , allies can no longer trust America and in asia they are looking toward china

Most world leaders used this ploy in year one, but as we saw at G6....they're done attempting to appease the loon.
