Alec Baldwin Fired Prop Gun That Killed Halyna Hutchins, Injured Director

Alec Baldwin fired a prop gun on a set in New Mexico on Thursday, accidentally killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and wounding director Joel Souza.

The incident occurred on the set of “Rust,” an independent feature that was filming at the Bonanza Creek Ranch, a popular production location south of Santa Fe.

Hutchins, 42, was transported by helicopter to University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque, where she died. Souza, 48, was taken by ambulance to Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center in Santa Fe, where he was receiving emergency care.

The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s office said in a statement that Hutchins and Souza “were shot when a prop firearm was discharged by Alec Baldwin, 68, producer and actor.”

No one was arrested in the incident, and no charges have been filed, the office said. Detectives were interviewing witnesses, and the incident remains under an “open and active” investigation, according to the Sheriff’s office.

Jacksonville teen arrested in shooting death deemed accidental of 15-year-old

Officers were called about 9:15 p.m. to the 3800 block of Grant Road where the 15-year-old was shot in the upper chest. Detectives learned he was in a shed with several other teens when one pulled out a gun. While the suspect was handling the gun, it went off and hit the victim, the Sheriff's Office said.


Investigators found no indication that the shooting was intentional but issued an arrest warrant Wednesday, and the teen turned himself in, the Sheriff's Office said.

The 16-year-old suspect, who is not being named by The Times-Union due to his age, was arrested Wednesday on the charge as well as armed trespassing, tampering with evidence and possession of a firearm by a minor, the Sheriff's Office said. The victim's name has not been released.

Now its come out that the crew had been target shooting with real ammo and some idiot decided to store real bullets where the prop guns and blanks were stored.
The prop gun should of never been loaned to the crew , there NEVER should of been REAL ammo on the set and ESPECIALLY not stored with the prop gun or blanks .And technically to follow gun safety Baldwin should of looked to see if and what it was loaded with but Im have to say I doubt hes smart enough to know to look so he gets a pass due to liberals being pretty ignorant about guns and gun safety to start with .

There is a amazing string of fuck ups that resulted in this , Its pure neglect on what appear d to be more than one person

She didn't check the gun, Baldwin didn't check the gun...both didn’t realize a gun was loaded... thought gun was safe...didnt mean to shoot anyone..both freak accident..both ended with a dead body... she was charged with manslaughter, why should Baldwin be treated different?
