About 1:30 pm, police responded to several calls about gunfire, and found a man lying between a parking lot and the front of a building.


He had been shot several times and died at the scene...

i've carried a few guns, been around dozens of people that have carried a few guns. NEVER have I heard of a gun just 'going off'. A gun in working order needs a booger picker pulling the bang button.

Like I have said in response to many of these sorts of posts, "YOu can't fix stupid". And in 99.9% of the accidental disharges of firearms, someone did something stupid.

A two-year-old Hinesville boy was killed by a gunshot wound Thursday.

The apparent self-inflicted shooting happened around 4:30 p.m. at the child's home.

Police say the child accidentally shot himself in the head while his father was outside the house mowing the grass.

Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence in the 800 block of Gerling Lane outside New Haven in reference to a gunshot victim.

Deputies determined that the owner of the residence was sighting in a scope for a rifle.

He was standing in a workshop shooting out a door.

His wife, identified as Ruth Ann Kuschel, age 63, came around the corner.

Ms. Kuschel was pronounced deceased by New Haven Ambulance personnel.

A man is dead after being shot by state police.

Troopers say he threatened them with a gun and state police say they did what they were trained to do.

"We heard the gunshots. That's when we knew something wasn't right," remembers Brichelle Hall, who lives near where the shooting happened.

Next door to the Halls, police had confronted 38-year-old Paul Demaree.

Police were there because Demaree's girlfriend was found injured and lying in the driveway.

Another neighbor tells LEX18 they heard a struggle inside Demaree's home.

They say they heard officers scream, 'drop your weapon' multiple times.

Police say Demaree refused to lower his handgun.

Then police say he pointed the weapon at troopers.
