I just found out my Eye Doctor is a MAGA moron. What do I do now?

I can understand the weak-minded falling for Trump and the right wing bullshit but this guy has a medical degree and had been practicing medicine for over 30 years. Very disappointing.
I've lost all respect and trust in him as a medical professional.

No. He's obviously very intelligent or he wouldn't be a physician. He's also showing signs of mental illness or even early dementia. Not because he votes for Trump, but because he has fallen for fantasy crap that isn't remotely true. Even worse -- he shares it with patients. A professional would leave that stuff at home. I would find another specialist.
 
The estimated $30 trillion wasted globally on ineffective CO2 mitigation would have been better spent buying up pristine wilderness, on land and in the Oceans, turning them into wildlife preserves.

Habitat destruction and over fishing are being ignored because stopping that is Not as profitable for Leftists.

For me the issue here isn't the physician's political views, but that he chose to share them with a client. It is unprofessional. Whatever other unprofessional things might he do? Discuss me and my condition with others outside the office? Why would he be asking a client to have lunch with him? That is also unprofessional.

Two red flags here. First, he should not be talking about his political views in this setting. Second, he definitely should not be suggesting you two have lunch! so he could explain "everything" to you.

The whole episode is so bizarre that it would make me uncomfortable to be around him. This isn't to criticize his skills as a specialist who saved your vision, that's a separate thing from his politics. But I'm wondering why he had such a lapse in judgment after all these years. Is this what MAGAs have come to, using the true believers to convert the so-called faithless?

Asking for another of the specialists is a good idea, and hope they aren't MAGAts too!

I think I would have just asked your doctor, if he/she recommended drinking bleach to kill a virus, and also ask, "Did Biden ever recommend that"?

"Well Trump did, and so therefore I'm sticking with Biden"! Said BYE BYE- and walked out.

And then find a more professional Doctor that does not discuss politics with their patients!

My only question is if his delusion has infected his medical judgement or business practices. I had surgery last year and was faced with the same dilemma. I decided he was a good surgeon and stuck with him.

The problem in the end was that he screwed me with the bill. Told me insurance was going to cover 100%, then he billed me three thousand dollars.

I've been seeing him since 1997. He's probably late 60s. About ten years ago, he ranted to me about the 'dangers' of Lasic surgery that I thought was out of bounds. But, other than that, he exhibited no radical, extremist opinions.

There are other doctors in the same practice that have seen me and performed surgery on me that I consider excellent.
And they don't go on inane political rants.
What would you do?
