There was more than one change in the laws that allowed us to get to where we are. Several under a republican congress.

No. I’ll take him off again, in the morning. I’m just really losing my temper today. It’s the subject. It blows me away. It really does. And I don’t like when I lose my temper. I usually do it just for effect, to be funny, but this is real on this thread. I feel like killing one of these fools right now. Well, or at least, punching them. I wouldn’t kill them, that’s hyperbole. But I would punch them.

Which is what I stated earlier. That the deregulation of Glass Steagall started under Bush, continued under Clinton, and again under the second Bush. Some with Dems in charge of Congress, some with Reps. Which is EXACTLY what I stated earlier.

Other deregulation occured (once again) under various mixed leadership. To act as though it was just Reps is complete stupidity.

The point is, you made a lot of stupid statements earlier in this thread, the first one wherein you actually described socialism…as if that were the danger facing us today! And demanding to know when “the left” is going to thank CEOs’. Give me a fucking break! Again I’d like to know when did you or anyone else bloviating on this thread, ever thank the left? They were historically, a countervailing force on the power of corporations. They are no more. And the corruption, rising inequality, stagnating wages, rising poverty, failing health care, lowered worker rights, directly correlate to the fall of the left and the rise of the radical right.

So I’d say excuse me for not giving a flying fuck about your rants against the left, but frankly, I don’t think I have anything to make excuses for.

I thank the left all the time. Just last week I talked about liberals being responsible for the end of Slavery, Jim Crow, and school desgregation. I thanked them for strengthening the rights of those accused of crimes and I think them repeatedly for not making my daughter grown up in a world where women die from back room abortions. I have been a board member of the ACLU and am currently a member of PFLAG. I LOVE the left in most repects. It is just economically and on the issue of guns that we part ways.

He's got that routine down pat. I got it on how foreign capital investment is supposedly going to bring down the U.S. but he can't explain how. He just knows and remember he was right on the Iraq war.

Good summary of my view on it too.

I used to call myself a liberal before I began to question the dogma of their economic policies.

Well, guns are not my issue other than that I am thinking of getting one, except my bf said he would break up with me if I did. But economically, this country has much to thank the left for.
