I remember the "Summer of the Bus Passengers". 1993? That's when deregulation and low cost airlines reduced ticket prices to the point where people who usually took the bus bought a ticket on the airlines. After that, the passenger cabin looked like a NYC bus. :)

I would definitely prefer higher prices and more comfortable airplanes.
I traveled plenty before 1993.

Also, TSA is an abomination as well.

I've said it before, but air travel was much nicer 60 years ago than it is now.
I remember actually enjoying it as a kid.

I value both my ethnicity and my nationality.
Ethnicity would be less important, I'm sure, when it's spread so thinly over so many different ones.
I can understand that.

If all eight of your great-grandparents were born in towns on the same Mediterranean island,
as is the case with me,
ethnicity means a little bit more, I would think.
