Why the liberal arts are important

I only talk to my friends about my life, and certainly not to drunken rageaholics.

An unrestrained rage and cynicism like yous can only come from debilitating emotional trauma.

If a bullet to the brain isn't what you are thinking, how about poison or jumping off a bridge?

Insults do not answer the question, Sock. Obviously, you have no degree and you never served. You whine about the little you make in your retail job.

That is the reason most corporations and businesses hire liberal arts majors rather than all STEM majors.
Argument from randU fallacy, Sock. You cannot just make up numbers and use them as 'data', or quote made up numbers as 'data' either.
If you've ever had a literature class with engineering students and discuss the meaning of a book or passage the engineer wants to know the answer. "What did he really mean." They think everything has a specific answer and they cannot tolerate ambiguity. That is not a realistic view of the world and people in human resources, employee performance, morale, supervision, etc. cannot view everything in absolute terms in order to handle employees and customers.
You don't get to speak for everyone Sock. Omniscience fallacy.
STEM students often get assistance and support from liberal arts majors to help them deal with other employees, customers, and supervisors.
You don't get to speak for everyone Sock. Omniscience fallacy.

There are extremely few cases of a scientist becoming a President, Prime Minster, or U.S. Senator.
So?
The STEM skill set does relatively little to teach good writing and speaking skills,
You think Biden has good writing and speaking skills? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
or to infuse the student with the cultural, linguistic, socioeconomic, or business awareness to interact effectively with a diverse set of citizens and political interests.
You learn that BEFORE you go to college, Sock (or at least you should've!).

Almost all of the country's top leadership in government and corporate commerce were educated in law, business, or the social sciences and humanities.

If you want to prepare and train for leadership, getting an electrical engineering or astronomy degree is not the ideal way to go about it.

Yes it is.

Losers in government have no idea how to build and launch a rocket, construct the weapons systems they use, build aircraft they fly in, build the limos they ride in, or even how to build the road they are riding on. They don't know how to build a website to run their campaigns on, build the phone and telecommunications systems they talk on, and provide all the power for their lights, TV cameras, and even their podium.

The leaders are the scientists, engineers, and technicians that make this stuff possible for them.
