Tim Walz was chosen because he is the perfect radical in the eyes of the DNC. This is Walz thought process:

Step 1: Select a radical DNC position and embrace it more than even Cory Booker would.
Step 2: Announce to the world, with a straight face, that this is full-on where we are headed, i.e. it is inevitable.
Step 3: Declare that he is going to save everyone time and money by just going there right now.

Tim Walz has been thoroughly vetted by the DNC and has earned the highly coveted stamp of approval.
