She was in the lead, pounding at the final obstruction between the mob and the Congress other than a handful of guards including the officer who did what he reasonably thought needed to be done. What person in her right mind wouldn't think she was risking her life in that circumstance.

Now we just need to await the decision as to whether or not he will be given a medal for his services to the country.

I don't think he deserves a "medal". He did do his job and he shouldn't be punished for it. That's it.
