Are you retarded? Roads are not just county or city owned and paid for. States provide funding to lower levels of government for road maintenance, just as the federal government does.
Also, your statement "...if you think that the gasoline tax pays for the city street in front of your house" is really just a non sequitur. It doesn't fucking matter where the tax money comes from. It matters that there is tax money for that purpose. Therefore, if property taxes on a primary residence didn't exist--my argument--those taxes could, and would, be made up elsewhere. Or are you telling me that is impossible and that only taxation of all property is necessary to derive those taxes from the public?
