2nd Amendment Conversation from the Defund thread

So? Do you think we'll just give up our guns?
That is just right-wing stereotyping like usual. It is not about grabbing guns, but about grabbing gun lovers and Regulating them Well.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

I know what it says. Those words hang proudly above the fireplace in our gun club. You won't regulate us.

If the need arises, we will regulate you. Don't fuck with us Americans, the consequences will be devastating.

The unorganized militia, as Individuals of the People are subject to the police power of their State and the Union.

Subject only to the police power, the right of the individual citizen to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. (Illinois State Constitution)

so the police are free to not infringe on the individual.

good for illinois.

When the constitution was written, we had a citizen army. The Brits earlier had destroyed an armory before an attack. Gun lovers do not understand the point or the history. If they think our founders would have tolerated the gun carnage in America, they do not understand them. They were trying to make a better life. Guns do the opposite.

there are several points in history, with documentation, that clearly state that dangerous freedom was preferable to peaceful slavery.............in other words, you know not what you speak of.

The defense and protection of the state and of the United States is an obligation of all persons within the state. The legislature shall provide for the discharge of this obligation and for the maintenance and regulation of an organized militia.

Why do we have security problems in our free States?

because MOST people prefer to think of government agents as that 'well regulated' militia to protect us.............when the courts specifically said that there is no duty or obligation to do so.
I have no idea what you mean?

The judicature has no say over that.

Yeah, sure we do, We have a secret entrance too, with underground meeting place and special finger print activated door lock unknown to anyone who isn't a member.

I am not the Grand Poobah, just a lowly officer. I do, however, have a lot of say on what gets done and who we allow to join. Racists are not allowed, sorry...

We have our own constitution here in PA too. The police out here in rural PA side with the populace, and we say fuck you to any restrictions passed by you fascists. We'll live as we always have. Live with it, or die trying to enforce your restrictions.

of course you don't.
and yet most people have not heard of Castle Rock v. Gonzalez.....................

so where do you stand, other than your bullshit copy and paste of anti 2nd Amendment bullshit?
A legal error?

The posse comitatus power continues to exist in those common law states that have not expressly repealed it by statute. As an example, it is codified in Georgia under OCGA 17-4-24:
Every law enforcement officer is bound to execute the penal warrants given to him to execute. He may summon to his assistance, either in writing or orally, any of the citizens of the neighborhood or county to assist in the execution of such warrants. The acts of the citizens formed as a posse by such officer shall be subject to the same protection and consequences as official acts.
