2nd Amendment Conversation from the Defund thread

This is what they actually wrote as our supreme law of the land: To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress;

and nowhere in that entire US Constitution did it give the feds a shred of power to regulate the arms of the people, or who could have them............NOWHERE

I don't see congress handing out weapons to the people.........do you?
This is express Constitutional Law for legal purposes even external to border threads:

To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress;

numerous historical quotations have been provided here dozens of times showing you that the founders DISTRUSTED government and that private citizens, armed with the same weapons of warfare that the government would have, were essential to keep the government in check, or at the very least, outgunned by the citizenry..............why do you ignore all of those?

Then provide them. I provided what the who wrote the constitution said. That is fundamental. Rightys want to believe something so absurd that founders wanted the people to be armed to overthrow the American government. That is just stupid.

again, these have been posted many times............what NOBODY has ever been able to provide is the super secret document that Madison wrote saying he was going to hoodwink the new citizens of the USA in to believing the 2nd Amendment protected the individual right of the people, but instead was to guarantee the new government a ready army

Well regulated militia'. being necessary to keep the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
It says well-regulated militia. That is not what we have or ever have had. It says necessary to keep the security of a free state. That was because we had citizen-soldiers and no standing army. We have an enormous standing army and the free state is not dependent on people having guns. The security of the free state is divorced from the right to own guns. It is actually threatened by them.
We would be wise to vastly limit gun access. We have people living in terror due to more guns than people. We have mass shootings weekly. We have our kids getting trained in how to hide from shooters. That should not be and I can tell you how to stop it.l

The defense and protection of the state and of the United States is an obligation of all persons within the state. The legislature shall provide for the discharge of this obligation and for the maintenance and regulation of an organized militia.

Why do we have security problems in our free States?

Are you saying my post has no validity? Unless you want to return to the early days of the Wild West (even then, some towns had gun regulations, don't cha know).

The first 4 words of the 2nd Amendment cannot be taken out of context...state militias STILL exist in many states, REGULATED by those states. Then there's the National Guard, which falls under both state and federal controls.

All 50 states are "free". And what type of "security" are you referring to precisely?

A moot point that a LOT of these "2nd amendment rights" advocators just refuse to acknowledge. A pity. But again, what "security" problems are you referring to?

No, you won't. . Guns are barely regulated. The time to get more regulation is here. Register them. Get a license. take classes in gun use. Have a license qualified for and renewed every 2 years. Kinda like cars.
You rightys talk so tough.

Denial and discard of the Constitution of the United States.

We had a beginning country with no standing army and no tax system. The army was the citizens. In case you have not noticed, that is not the America of today. The Brits attacked the armories when they started the wars. They encouraged weapons because the people were the soldiers who save the country. Now right-wingers have convinced themselves that guns were intended to fight the government. How stupid is that?

The army was not the citizens.
Guns were used to fight the government in the revolutionary war.

Still attempting to discard the Constitution of the United States. It's a package deal, dude.

Guns were used against the government during the revolutionary war. The government was British at the time.

Discard of the 2nd amendment. Discard of the Constitution of the United States. A free State is not threatened by people owning and bearing Arms.
