You need to learn what's actually going on with regard to rank choice voting vs other methods of voting.

The second choice gave voters the right to decide who they would vote for in a two way race.

That's why she has such high negatives here. I suspect the only votes she got were from the Trumpers. Likewise the only votes Peltola got were from dims. Dims slightly outnumber the Trumpers apparently. Begich got caught in between.

There are three groups: Democrats, saner Republicans, and crazier Republicans. Democrats make up 40% of the vote, so if there is a three way split, they will win. Enough of the saner Republicans will vote for a Peltola above Palin, that in a two way vote against Palin, Peltola wins with 51.5%.

There is only one way for the Republicans to win in this setup, and that is that Begich has to be the nominee. Crazier Republicans will not vote for a Democrat at all, and will vote for a saner Republican if needed. Begich would get 60% of the vote in a general elections, but there is a problem.

Saner Republicans make up slightly less than half of the Republicans, and are less likely to vote in a primary, so there is no way for Begich to get the nomination over Palin.

So Begich beats Peltola in a head-to-head, but cannot beat Palin to get to that head-to-head. Peltola beats Palin in a head-to-head.

Another victim of the ranked choice voting scam (this was the first election Alaska held under said scam of a system)...

Hopefully republicans in Alaska will wise up to the scam come November, as 2/3's of Alaskans wanted a Republican representative, yet via the ranked choice scam, a Demonkkkrat comes out on top anyway... This scam is very similar to the "splitter strategy" that the RNC loves to use against their own voting base.

Elections, when they aren't frauded away, are rigged in favor of what the DNC/RNC establishments want. That's why Bernie Sanders will never win the nomination for President, and why Palin didn't end up winning this special election. It's a rigged system to thwart the will of the people. Now, 2/3's of Alaskans who didn't want a Demonkkkrat representative now have one for a few months...
