Anyone from coastal NC,SC, GA area?

Economy will take a big hit. Lenders are dropping closings in the mid atlantic until after this thing passes and the properties can be re-inspected for damage.

There are lots of working poor in the Carolinas.... and lots of seniors on food stamps.

And a lot of them voted for Trump. Hope they get more help this time than a blowhard who shows up, congratulations himself on what a fine response, and throws rolls of paper towels at them.

LOL there's nobody I'd rather less have as president in a catastrophe than Donald Trump. You might as well just shoot yourself if you're not white.

Crying them and feeling their pain does no more good than throwing paper towels. Presidents need to stay out of disaster zones. They divert resources.

Even if you are white, Trump doesn't give a shit about you. He puts on an act. Mostly he'd rather just flop in bed eating cheeseburgers and Tweeting about how unfair and mean everyone is to him.

Exactly. Fortunately Obama only had one major hurricane (Sandy) to deal with. And apparently Trump spent the aftermath trying to troll the President via Twitter. Notice how Obama didn't even deign to notice the trollery? That's what a real man does.

Trollery or not, Obama going in right on the heels of Sandy was a mistake that diverted resources. It was an election photo-op that should have never happened.

That's good.

Yeah but had just had a thunderstorm pass through for a few hours when you asked so the rising may have been related to that. I see the forecast now is all over the place for the hurricane but they are moving it away from us some again if it doesn't bounce off land, so it is good either way.

Yep.. Once it hits land it could spread out and rain covering a 150 mile radius around Charlotte and all the way to the coast.

Why didn't Obama have to deal with more hurricanes. Didn't the global warming believers claim that more and more would be occurring due to that hoax?

I heard between Wilmington and Morehead City NC is the safest place to be. Let your kids know to evacuate there.

Good luck, anyway, to all the people down there. Be safe! Perhaps the President could go down and build a wall or something?

Hopefully. Our sustained winds forecast is down another 10 mph today, but the rainfall totals are still all over the place--some higher, some lower. It can rain all it wants as long as the wind stays lower as high winds and high rainfall are the combination that will knock out power from falling trees.
