Did it? fuck my memory is slipping. And district 9 was fucking awesome. Not that there was a lot of competition anyways.
Yes, to be released this fall. Much of it was shot in Detroit, also adding to my bias.
You lack the proper frame of reference Tom. If you had attended an American public school, believe me, you'd get it. We all know someone we went to high school with that had a line of shit a mile long like Ferris who would get you into trouble but walk away smelling like a rose and we all had smarmy principles like the one in the movie and we all had a teacher like Ben Stein and we all had a class mate like the girl who's best friend sisters boyfriend who heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with this girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. You are entitled to your opinion, but I watched Ferris Bueller a couple of weeks ago and I frankly can't see what so great about it.
Yes, as a musical comedy starring Ricky Martin in Patrick Swayze's role.hold da phone... they are remaking Red Dawn???
I liked Silence of the Lambs but I think the best movie of 1991 was a Bill Murray comedy that I about stroked out on. "What about Bob"I notice you two like The Rock more than A View to a Kill.
Props to Billy for 2001 - Donnie Darko is a kickass movie. BTW, Billy, you gave an honorable mention for 2000, but didn't mention Gladiator, which would be my runner-up to The Patriot. Very similar movies, in many respects, but Patriot definitely edges out Gladiator.
Lastly, I don't like Silence of the Lambs, so you all need to keep fishing for 1991...
You didn't like either Platoon or Unforgiven? Are you a Michael Jackson fan too?

I liked "The Doors" too.
I've had neighbors like this.

I didn't say I don't like Unforgiven. I said it was overrated, and didn't deserve best picture... Platoon sucks, though.
just go back to getting giddy over Titanic.... you obviously have poor taste in flicks.

Barfly
Good Morning Vietnam
Empire of the Sun
Raising Arizona
Broadcast News
Prick Up Your Ears
I agree with almost everything on your list here, but for 91...Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man?
Seriously?
It's FILLED with wrong, starting with a Baldwin as one of the bad guys.
Gotcha. BTW, I meant to say A Time to Kill, not the Bond movie...
Also, Red Dawn is a horrible movie, why are they remaking it???
Unforgiven had one of the best lines ever
"deserves got nothin to do with it"
"Deserves got nothin' to do with it" was a great line.
Also, for anyone here claiming that Red Dawn is even a decent film, I should not be receiving any criticisms of my selections from you. -The Management
